Mindhunter (TV 2017)

Jim Barney

Jim is definitely the character I want to see more of most. I was disappointed when Gregg was hired instead of him and delighted when he returned in season two. If we would have gotten a season three I would have hoped to have seen him join the BSU. Future fic where he does join the BSU would be cool.

Character study! Tell me more about what he’s like? What is his life like outside of work? Does his wife want him dead? A question I only ask because Jim Barney seems to have been at least partially based on Judson Ray, and his wife tried to have him killed. The line about his wife insisting on cooking him breakfast may have been a nod to this. So I’ll leave it up to you if Jim Barney is in a situation similar to that of his real life counterpart. Another thing that I feel fits with the theme of this paragraph would be fleshing out his backstory.

Case fic! I feel this is a really good canon to do casefic for. So Jim trying to solve a case or maybe even conducting an interview. Note on my explicit sexual content featuring characters under the age of 14 DNW: I am perfectly fine with it if you write case fic where there are victims younger than that with a sexual aspect to the crime. You can get as gross or fucked up with the case as you want, I just don’t want a straight up sex scene.

Slash fic! I’m cool with basically any slash pairing featuring Jim that doesn’t violate my DNWs. So, Jim/Holden! The main idea coming to mind for me with that is something growing between them in Atlanta. Also, psychopath/serial killer Holden is not where I would have wanted the show to go, but it is an idea I like to see explored in fic. I would read the hell out of Holden going off the deep end and Jim having to be the one to track him down. Jim/Bill! Maybe them growing closer after Nancy leaves Bill. Or maybe AU where Jim was hired instead of Gregg in season one (not sure why that sticks in my head as a Jim/Bill prompt specifically because that could work with other pairings or gen but hey). Jim/Gregg! I don’t have any plot ideas for that beyond the fact that I’d be interested to see what that would look like. One thing I will say is that I’ve seen it theorized that Gregg is gay but deeply closeted. While I am not one hundred percent sure if that is what they were going for, but I can see it enough that if they took the character in that direction it would have worked I think. So if this is the pairing you choose you could probably explore that.

Talented Mr Ripley (1999)

Marge Sherwood

Revenge of the Hitchcock Blonde. That’s the phrase that immediately pops into my head when I think about what I would want to see from Marge. One element of the film I appreciate more every time I see it is how much it is in conversation with the work of Alfred Hitchcock. I tend to think of Marge in the context of the Hitchcock Blonde archetype. The sophisticated blonde woman who must be knocked down, humiliated, degraded, or hurt somehow over the course of the plot. This came from a deeply fucked up place of obsession when you look into it. I am conflicted over whether or not it can be said Marge manages to flip this on its head or not. On one hand I feel that Marge manages to keep her dignity despite Tom putting her through a pretty awful breakup while pretending to be Dickie, but on the other hand she does not get to be triumphant either. I love that she figured him out and flips out at him at the end, but no one believes her due to sexism and thus ends up being held down anyway. So long babbling aside anything you could do with Marge that explores or twists the Hitchcock Blonde archetype would be A+. Also if you wanna write crossover femslash with any of the ladies from Hitchcock films (blondes or not) I’d be all for it.

Post canon fic could be pretty cool. I’ve seen it said that despite the film having a pretty definitive ending compared to the one of the book that basically has a sequel tease, it still feels like a villain origin story for Tom. I would say the same about Marge. This feels like an origin for her as well, although I don’t know exactly of what sort. I’ll leave it up to you what she becomes as the result of this. I’d definitely read about her going down a darker path although, I’ll be honest when I say that’s not the first place my mind goes. Her being Tom’s nemesis who continues to run into him and attempting to thwart his criminal plans could be rad. Or any direction you can think of that I haven’t. And another thing for post canon fic, how does she respond to the death of her friend Peter?

Femslash! Aside from aforementioned crossover femslash, Marge/Meredith is my first thought in this department. Maybe a fic starting the first time they see each other post canon. Or canon divergence where they run into each other in Italy at the point in the story where Dickie is dead but Marge thinks he dumped her instead of Meredith running into Tom. How might that have changed things? Another possible pairing is Marge/Silvana. I don’t know what that would look like but I’m here for it. The only ways I can imagine putting them together are canon divergence AUs. Maybe Silvana doesn’t commit suicide and that somehow leads to her getting together with Marge. Or AU where Marge was the one having an affair with Silvana. Or an AU where Marge leaves Dickie for Silvana. My side question is if any of these AUs would be fix-its for the Tom/Dickie situation or if things would go to murderous hell anyway, just differently?

Note on my unrequested m/f ship DNW: I have no problem with Marge/Dickie being a thing just like in canon. Although my interest in that relationship here starts and ends with how it informs Marge’s characterization. I don’t care about that relationship for its own sake.

You (TV 2018)

Joe Goldberg

Note on my reader insert DNW: feel free to write this fic in second person if you want. It fits the canon and I don’t consider second person fic to inherently be reader insert fic.

I am not a generally easy person to scare with fiction. It is exceedingly rare that I come across a fictional character that scares me. I find Joe Goldberg scary though. He’s just so creepy and alarming. I also find him interesting to dissect probably for all the reasons I find him disturbing. Anyway I invite you to terrify me. There’s a ton of different one on one dynamics I’d be interested in so you’ll have plenty of choices for what to write here (it also makes this section longer than the others which is not indicative of preference or anything, I’d be happy to receive any requested fandom, I just have more to say here). Of course that means this is about to get all over the place. Hopefully this’ll look organized to people who aren’t me.

Pre-canon fic exploring his dynamic with Mr. Mooney. I get the impression that a lot of Joe’s ideas about love come from Mr. Mooney. Primarily in that Joe seems to be under the impression that love is taking complete control over the life of another person and altering it as he sees fit and that person should be nothing but grateful because that’s what loving back is, which is a perspective that I think can easily be traced back to when Mr. Mooney first took him in. Also the cage seems pretty significant. You can explore this in a fucked up gen way or a fucked up slash way. Also was Joe telling Beck the truth about Mr. Mooney’s stroke or did Joe do something to him?

I loved Candace so much. I found what her presence in season two highlighted about Joe’s state of mind and how completely he can turn on a former obsession (Madonna-Whore Complex much?) interesting and I was so much on her side. Something looking at their precanon relationship would be cool. What didn’t we see? What are the odds she was calling him bunny as in bunny boiler? Also with how intensely he turned on her after she came back, do you think it could have ever been possible for his romantic obsession for her to return? If so, then canon divergence AU where that happened either when she confronted him in New York or at some point in LA. How would he have dealt with those feelings returning and how would Candace have responded to that given her trauma? If not, then canon compliant stuff about his perspective on her now that she isn’t the object of his obsession would be cool (possibly with themes of love and hate being two sides of the same coin). Another direction is AU where she got him arrested, either precanon or after Beck’s death. How would he have fared in prison? Also wouldn’t be opposed to an AU where Candace doesn’t die and continues to haunt him (or fic where she doesn’t die and haunts him as a ghost). If you can fit in Wuthering Heights references for anything involving Candace hell yes.

If you wanna go into his relationship with Beck the one prompt I have is stuff that explores the difference between Beck, the fantasy, and Beck, the actual person. He had such a difficult time reconciling the fact that she was an actual person that I don’t think he ever fully did. It was a part of why he had to kill her.

If you wanna go into his dynamic with Love what I would be most interested in would be post-season two stuff where Joe is suffering. What the ending of season two made very clear to me is that Joe does not actually want love. Pun intended. I mean, Love was perfect for him and accepted him unconditionally, and he was disgusted by her not even seeing the irony about what he hated in her. A huge part of what probably threw him off the Love Quinn train after discovering what sort of person she truly is is that this put her on equal ground with him and he doesn’t want that. Joe doesn’t want true love and partnership. He wants a fantasy. He wants control. So what that household looks like now that Joe desperately wants out would be interesting to see.

Joe’s relationship with Ellie! He definitely cared about her in his way, was definitely thinking about her safety when analyzing Love but at the same time he intervened in her life essentially to make himself feel like a hero in such a way that she resents him. Joe craves redemption and the ability to feel like a good person. He does good things to convince himself he’s good but whether it is actually enough is questionable at best. I think that sort of thing provides good narrative tension, and his dynamic with Ellie is a good place for that sort of thing. What will be their dynamic going forward? Is she really in Key Largo and if so will she ever come back? If she isn’t actually in Key Largo then where is she and why? One thing I want to point out about the situation Ellie ended up in at the end of season two, basically on the streets but with Joe financially supporting her, is that Joe himself was on the streets when he was younger. Will Joe be able to keep Fincher off her trail? One AU that could be interesting is an AU where Ellie was the one Joe ended up obsessed with in LA instead of Love. Would that mess with him and his need to feel like a good person or would he be able to cognitive dissonance his way through it? How would Ellie have responded to that kind of attention from Joe? Hell, how would Delilah have responded to this?

Speaking of kids Joe took under his wing to feel like a better person but probably did a lot of damage in the process, Paco. Fic set during or before season one where Joe is looking out for Paco. Fic where they interact before Paco moves to LA but after Beck’s death. Future fic where Paco reappears in Joe’s life with how Paco has turned or now that he’s a little bit (or a lot bit depending on how far in the future this) older. I wouldn’t mind if that last one was slashy.

I’m not usually the sort that goes for OC/canon character fic, but since Joe is so completely ruled by his obsessions throwing something new at him provides a chance for character study. Also since we know so little about the woman at the end of season two, fic involving her might as well be OC fic. Anything that throws Joe off balance or put him in unfamiliar territory is something I would be interested in seeing. One direction to go is the one I suggested with the Joe/Ellie AU, where the new object of his obsession is a minor (I mean we could see that wasn’t the case with the actual woman at the end of season two but for the sake of fanfic we can pretend). Would that mess with his self image as a good person or would he be able to creepily justify it? A completely different direction you could go in is what if this new woman never reciprocates his affections. How would Joe handle that? I can see that getting pretty fucked up and scary because I think it’s pretty safe to say that Joe is an erotomaniac. One that’s been fortunate enough to consistently turn the dream of that other person loving him into reality, but still. So there’s a good chance if he were in that situation he’d refuse to fully believe she just isn’t into him. One more completely different direction to take the concept of Joe/OC is Joe falling for a man. I’m assuming he’d be a Rule 63 version of the woman at the end of season two but he doesn’t strictly have to be if you have other ideas. I’m just curious what that would look like, if that would have any impact on how he chooses to pursue his love interest, and how he would feel about being obsessed with a man. If you have any other ideas for how to use the season three love interest who is essentially an OC at this point to shake Joe up go for it. Also this has nothing to do with the character dynamics but each season is essentially supposed to be set in a new little world. I assume season three’s world will be the suburbs, but I’ve heard the third book is going to be set in the Pacific Northwest. Joe kidnapping his love interest and going on a road trip to the Pacific Northwest is definitely a plot I’m here for.

I would love something set postcanon about Henry’s imprisonment of The Kid, but if you have other ideas about the circumstances this pairing should happen under, I would still be very interested. What do they think about each other exactly? I like all the parallels between them and the pseudo selfcest angle. Also do you think that The Kid was telling the truth and the complete truth about his backstory and if not then what is the real truth? And how much power does he have over the bad things that happen around him?

Dick Hallorann/Will Hanlon

The interlude about the Black Spot has to be one of my favorite parts of the IT novel and it makes me emotional, and I would love to read about this ship during their time at the Black Spot before it burned down. Or maybe Dick comes back up to Maine one last time right before Will finds out he has cancer to say goodbye. Or anything else you can think of.

Doctor Sleep (2019)

Snakebite Andi

I’ve always loved a good lesbian villain, and I very much loved this one. There were a lot of changes made from her book counterpart which made me want to see this version further fleshed out and explored. Tell me about her time in the True Knot or maybe life before the True Knot. Does she feel any conflict about the things she’s done with the True Knot and what motivates her? When I first saw the film I thought they had cut Silent Sarey but checking IMDB it turns out that she exists in this continuity after all. What is their dynamic like in this continuity? Is it like in the book where their relationship is romantic but Silent Sarey’s feelings have a maternal aspect to them as well or are things different? I would definitely read a Snakebite Andi lives AU or a total canon divergence AU where she doesn’t end up as a part of the True Knot and continues down the path she was on at the start of the movie. If you wanna include Rose the Hat/Snakebite Andi as a ship I give my full blessing.

Billy Freeman/Dan "Danny" Torrance

Billy was so ride or die and supportive and great. I would love to see something about these two set during the eight year time skip where sometimes things are good and sometimes they’re bad but no matter what they love each other. Also what would have happened if Billy didn’t die when he did? How might the plot have unfolded differently (and how might you shove them together as a result)? Something exploring the little bit of shine Billy has would be cool.

Abra Stone/Dan "Danny" Torrance

There’s something about Stephen King intergenerational friendships that often pings me as unwittingly romantic. It’s probably all the destiny tropes that seem to get thrown in the mix, how much these people need each other in some way, the strength of the connections on a spiritual level, and stuff like that, but anyway these two are no exception. I would be interested in what it would look like if there actually was something inappropriate happening between during the events of the film, whether it be weird tension that’s ambiguous and uncomfortably intimate leaving neither of them sure what’s going on or something all the way at the level Abra’s dad clearly thought it was when he wanted to kick Dan’s ass. I would also be interested in outsider POV for this ship where there might not actually be a romantic/sexual aspect to their relationship but the POV character definitely believes there is like her dad’s initial impression or maybe something from the perspective of her mom at that point in canon where all she knows is that her husband is dead and her daughter is missing if she somehow found out about Dan. Another direction you could take this is things getting weird with Dan’s ghost postcanon.

Dan "Danny" Torrance/Jack Torrance

So I once came across this fan theory that Kubrick’s version of Jack was sexually abusive. The post I saw talking about it was a bit Pepe Silvia for my taste (which I guess it warranted given Kubrick’s reputation concerning attention to detail but they still lost me), and it didn’t bring up the reason why it was an idea I was willing to hear out. Basically book!Danny and movie!Danny behaved differently and it could be argued that some of movie!Danny’s traits that didn’t come from the book are consistent with behaviors some children may display in response to sexual abuse. I can’t say how viable this theory really is because I haven’t sat down and watched The Shining in a while (I kind of want to rewatch it soon, but the book is close to my heart for personal reasons, so I’m not sure how much I would actually like it this time around especially since I already have issues with the film, also side note within a side note: I think that’s a part of why I enjoyed the Doctor Sleep film so much, because it added a lot of the thematic stuff from The Shining novel that the movie threw out going so far as to even change the ending for it), but it’s definitely a lens I will be willing to read an exploration of their dynamic through. The beginning of this film when Dick is talking about his grandfather and compares him to Jack saying they had the same kind of darkness reminded me of that theory because in the book Dick’s grandfather was sexually abusive. While I would be surprised if they did this to point at Jack being sexually abusive towards Danny (I mean, I’m assuming they cut the explicit stuff from what Dick had to say about his grandfather for reasons of adaptational pragmatism and I would have done the same), but it made me think about it. I put the “Explicit extreme underage” DNW in there because I don’t want a sex scene between five year old Danny and Jack (although I’d been fine with it if stray details popped up here and there). I’m mostly interested in this from the perspective of how Dan’s fucked up and horrible dynamic with his father shaped him and impacts him. Jack is dead but his legacy remains and Dan’s relationship with him is still an active part of his life all these years later. Also fucked up things involving the ghost of Jack Torrance.

Dan "Danny" Torrance/Rose the Hat

AU where Dan accepts Rose’s offer at the end? Or maybe an AU where after hitting rock bottom instead of ending up in Frazier Dan ended up with the True Knot? Or an AU where the point of divergence is even farther back then that where Dan is falling into alcoholism as a young man and comes across the True Knot? What would Dan’s place in the True Knot be and what would he be like as a monster of that sort? What would Dan and Rose’s dynamic be like in this context? For this pairing I’m mostly thinking in terms of AUs like this because it was that scene towards the end that got me interested and it’s the only way I can think of to get them together, but if you have other ideas I invite you to go for them. Also if you wanted to write an f/f version of this pairing I would be into it.

Salem's Lot - Stephen King

Ben Mears/Mark Petrie

After everything they’ve been through together they have just been left loving each other so much. I would love to see some of their time on the road together because stories about drifters/people on the run is one of my favorite things. They have this unbreakable bond with trauma in the mix, what could go wrong? Whenever I think of these two I think of something that is both sweet and sordid at the same time. Also if you wanted to write an f/f version of this pairing I would be into it.

The Shining - Stephen King

George Hatfield/Jack Torrance

I’ve always been interested in this dynamic because Jack’s narrative about George seems to shift as the book progresses and Jack isn’t exactly the most reliable point of view character anyway. There are some unanswered questions left about George like for example I don’t think the book ever clarified exactly what George was referring to when he said, “You only hate me because you know!” (I’ve always read it as George was gay and thought Jack knew, and well I am asking for slashfic, but my reading isn’t the only possible answer as to what he might have been talking about). George is clearly on Jack’s mind a lot with how the play Jack is writing is clearly about him (consciously or subconsciously). So something fleshing out and exploring their dynamic and what might have been really going on. Also my friend has a theory that George had a small amount of shine in the same way that Jack had a little bit of shine and them being trapped in a mutual mindreading feedback loop nightmare could be fun.

The Stand - Stephen King

Tom Cullen/Stu Redman

You can blame that part towards the end where they’re trying to get back to Boulder together for this. Maybe something set during that era, love blossoming as they find a way to survive the journey together and support each other. Maybe on the road or in the snow or in the desert or in that motel. Maybe something set after that where it’s canon divergence for the very end because Tom and Stu get together somehow (I’m imagining that Stu and Fran would have amicably split in that).

Randall Flagg/Lloyd Henreid

This is just such a perfect devil and his right hand man ship and I love it so. Just all the gratitude and loyalty from Lloyd and all the shifty at best agendas and nightmarish boundary testing behavior from Flagg. There is an interesting relationship between love and fear for Flagg within Lloyd’s heart in which they are either two entities pulling against each other in a tug-a-war or they are one and the same. Also if you wanted to write an f/f version of this pairing I would be into it.

Harold Lauder/Larry Underwood

I want this because of how Harold was a big part of Larry’s morale and perseverance getting to Boulder, even if it was an imagined Harold very far from the real deal. I think it would be interesting to see canon divergence where their relationship goes in a totally different direction once they actually meet and the possible domino effect that might have on the outcome of canon.

Stand By Me (1986)

Teddy Duchamp/Gordie LaChance

What I would love to see is a story about reconnection. Somehow after Gordie has finished writing the story that is the movie when they’re both the adults that they became they somehow end up back in each other’s lives. Their relationship blossoms in an unexpected direction. I would also love a more brief reconnection in high school or in their adult lives before that if that’s where you’d rather go with it. Also if you wanted to write an f/f version of this pairing I would be into it.

Joseph Blake/Tom Blake

Tom was so determined to see his big brother again and save his life and I was definitely very invested in that quest and interested in all the things he had to say about his family in general. Joseph’s face during his one scene really stuck with me. The way he goes from happy and excited to holding back tears once he realizes what happened. So I would love to see these two actually interact. Maybe fic set before the war where they’re on the orchard together? Maybe letters sent during wartime? Another direction you can go is one or both of them pining after the other and using their memories and fantasies to comfort themselves even if the nature of their feelings brings them discomfort or shame. On a similar note postcanon fic where Joseph is mourning Tom and in his grief starts thinking of him in a new totally inappropriate light. Or yet another option would be a fix-it fic where Tom makes it to see Joseph again. If you have any other ideas go for it.

Apollo/Troilus

Troilus as a character is one of those research rabbit holes that I go down every once and a while and always have fun with. He was a character from the Trojan Cycle, but the specific work he appeared in has been lost to time. A lot of the works influenced by that particular work that went on to be influential in their own right that Troilus was believed to have appeared have also been lost. What we have of him are writing from that time that survived talking about those works and works influenced by the works we no longer have and works influenced by those works and so on. His characterization also shifted a lot over the years in accordance with changing social values and ideas about storytelling which just adds another level to this game of telephone. So anyway Troilus is generally the youngest Trojan prince, son of Hecuba and Priam. Sometimes he was depicted as being rumored to have been Apollo’s son because he was so beautiful. Sometimes he was depicted as actually having been Apollo’s son. There is at least one source out that lists Troilus not as Apollo’s son, but as Apollo’s lover. I have always found that little son or lover discrepancy hilarious, but in seriousness I would be very interested in something exploring or playing with that. I mean, why not both?

Demeter/Persephone

I’m having a hard time simplifying down my thoughts on these two into a coherent prompt because there are many, many directions you could go with this dynamic and I’m interested in almost all of them. One of my favorite things about mythology is that while it has a definite form it also has a lot of flexibility due to thousands of years of reinterpretation. The only direction you can go with their dynamic that I’m not a fan of is “Demeter was cruel and evil and Persephone found true joy, freedom, and love once Hades took her away” (which is not a dynamic I am not too concerned about getting considering that I’m requesting Demeter/Persephone and have a unrequested m/f DNW but I thought I would put that out there anyway, also speaking of my unrequested m/f DNW you can still have Persephone gone half of the year because that’s pretty integral but I don’t want any Hades/Persephone ship content, and to further clarify that I’m perfectly fine with references to their marriage or with that factoring into the plot, but I do not want fic where Persephone is in love with Hades). You can have their relationship be sweet and fluffy or angsty or difficult or whatever other spin you think would work best. There are three words/phrases that keep coming into my head about them you can take or leave that are rescue, the power of love, and a wife for the rest of the year.

Dare Me (TV 2019)

Beth Cassidy/Tacy Cassidy

There is a whole world of bitter, terrible, nasty resentment between these two that would make this incredibly messy and well, I love incredibly messy. But there’s more than just resentment! Beth to some degree views Tacy as the physical embodiment of a betrayal. Her feelings of inherent superiority over Tacy are interesting because they are tied with her feelings about abandonment and inferiority. Also I got the distinct impression that Tacy has a deep need for approval and validation, and many if not all of her attempts to get such things ultimately lead back to Beth in one way or another. Like the incidents with the ice bath or at the pep rally. One phrase that comes to mind about these two you can feel free to take or leave is: taking it too far.

Sharp Objects (TV)

Amma Crellin/Camille Preaker

Amma fixating on Camille, idealizing her. Amma’s murders all being in some way about Camille (even before they met because her first two victims were girls that Adora paid attention to because they reminded her of Camille). Camille’s self harm and Amma violence. The way their mother fucked them up. Amma trying to manipulate Camille. Amma getting insanely jealous about Camille. Camille trying her best to be there for Amma and do right by her and the motherhood related baggage that comes with that. Amma wanting to sleep in Camille’s bed always. All the obsession and possession. The way Camille connects Amma to dead girls she has loved in her mind. I really love basically the everything about this ship so just fuck me up tbh.

Stoker (2013)

Charlie Stoker/Richard Stoker

I’m not sure if I can explain this in a way that makes sense, but the impression I got from this movie was that both of them saw India as a second chance with the other. Like with Richard he was thinking “Charlie but this time not a murderer because I’ll do a better job” and with Charlie he was thinking “Richard but following my path and loving me unconditionally this time around”. Where it falls apart for both of them is the fact that India is not Charlie 2.0 or Richard 2.0, she’s her own person. So that left me wanting to see more of the dynamic between them one on one, either for backstory fic or in canon divergence fic.

Evelyn Stoker/India Stoker

"You were supposed to love me, weren't you?" I’m not the sort to put pictures in letters, but if I were the picture here would probably be from the hair brushing scene. I am really interested in their dynamic. Because there is certainly a lot of bitterness and jealousy but I think there is also some form of likely very twisted love and some form of connection. Or maybe desire for a connection would be a more precise way to put it because there is definitely distance and alienation in that relationship. Maybe something set precanon with confusing complicated feelings or something set post canon the next time they see each other. For that second one how does Evelyn feel about being spared, how does India feel about not killing Evelyn, and what causes this reunion?

Oh these two. Sweet Pea was so dedicated to Rocket and there was so much love there and the pain that went with Rocket’s death. Maybe an AU where Rocket doesn’t die and leaves with Sweet Pea at the end. Or fic showing their day to day before Baby Doll showed up. Or backstory fic about how Rocket ended up where she did and how Sweet Pea followed her. I would be interested in a story about them set in any of the three realities in this film, asylum, cabaret, or battle.

Adelaide Wilson/Red

I am fascinated by the twistyness inherent to this ship. I love it so much. Any excuse you can find to give these two more interactions than they got in canon would be wonderful (although I imagine pre-canon fic where they never technically interact at all within the scope of the story could still work as shipfic given the nature of the situation). Just how they’re intertwined and how they’re different and all the resentment and revenge and trying to survive and conflicts between good and evil or hero and villain where there’s no easy answer as to which side is which. Explorations of what they think about one another exactly would be great. Also feel free to absolutely fuck with my head over which one is which, I feel canon warrants that.

I enjoy reading retelling of myths that place them in new times and contexts. This is for a lot of reasons. I love history and just think it’s cool to visit other time periods in this context, but I also think this is a good way to look at aspects of these myths in different lights and maybe see them in new ways. WWI is one of my favorite settings to place the Trojan war in.

All: Arranged marriage to bring peace between two countries/species on the verge of a war

That would certainly be one way to try to ease the Trojan War. I’m interested in what the political situation would have had to have been to lead to this and what the exact political space this marriage occupies. Like is this Troilus being sent over to Achilles and now being a part of his kingdom or is this a way to give Achilles a certain level of power over Troy while bringing him into or whatever else? Also what would their dynamic be like in this context?

ALL: Elizabethan Theatre AU

While I'm not exactly sure how this would work, the concept was too meta for me to pass up seeing as how they’re both characters who appeared in plays from that era.

Demeter/Persephone

ALL: Being in a time loop together leads to getting together

I don’t have much to add to this other than YES. You can put the time loop at any point, I am just so here for this plot with them. Especially if them getting together turned out to be just what was needed to end the time loop and/or they continue to be together after it ends.

This is entirely because of Clive’s Plato obsession and the ways that went into how he saw his relationship with Maurice (like he definitely saw himself as erastes with Maurice as eromenos).

All: Hades/Persephone AU

Who would be Hades and who would be Persephone?

ALL: Being in a time loop together leads to getting together

The only thing that will end the time loop is for Clive to accept his homosexuality and rekindle his relationship with Maurice. Knowing how deeply entrenched Clive’s issues are, that might cause a very, very long time to pass within the time loop but I would be very interested in that development.

ALL: Main character goes back in time to the body of their younger self and changes what happened

Older Clive has regrets so when he gets the chance to do it over again he takes a different path this time now letting himself be gay and not bending to societal expectations. I always did wonder how things would have turned out for him if he went this route. How would a lifetime to look back on inform these decisions? How would his relationship with Maurice progress differently when Clive has all this context/baggage from the last time in his mind from day one and Clive not going on to deny his nature?

Considering how important Clive was to Maurice’s coming of age and this is well, a coming of age novel, I’m thinking that for this the timeline is slid up some years so that when Clive and Maurice are at the ages they should be meeting at university they are in the trenches together. How would their relationship be different if it started in this context? How would the war impact their outlooks?

I’ve always been kinda fascinated by the homoeroticism present in a lot of old timey vampire stories. I have a lot of thoughts on that specific thing that I won’t get into here, but it definitely means adding vampires to this canon is a thing that would interest me. Although who is the vampire would be up to you.

Maurice Hall/Alec Scudder

ALL: Characters Met While Fighting In WWI

I see two ways to achieve this. The first is sliding the timeline around a little bit so that when they’re at the point in their lives where they should be meeting at Pendersleigh they're down the trenches instead. The other way is having them just miss each other during Maurice’s Pendersleigh visit they got together during in canon with the war actually bringing their paths together. What would their relationship be like when formed under this context? How would the war change their outlook on the world?

ALL: Different First Meeting - Mistaken for a Hooker and Goes With It

I just like this scenario a lot. I would read it in either direction but I am very intrigued by the concept of Alec mistaking Maurice for a sex worker simply because it’s not what I would have jumped to first.

ALL: Russian Doll Time Loop

I can just really see this working for them. Maybe the time loop is a single day at Pendersleigh before they know each other and they realize that the other also keeps dying and restarting and they must band together to try to escape.

I just think putting those sorts of themes and like ripping reality apart by the seams would be fun to put in the Edwardian era. The first thing that comes to mind is that you could do some interesting things with time. What put that in my head is from what I understand (hopefully I wasn’t being lied to) the script they shot for the film was out of chronological order (if I recall correctly, we meet Dickie Barry before we meet Clive) jumping back and forth in time. Ultimately the film was put back in chronological order during the editing process, but the fact that it wasn’t always is more than enough to make me interested in time fuckery. If there are any more fundamental concepts you would like to smash instead/as well go for it.

I thought of this next prompt as a joke but I’m gonna ask for it seriously. So one of the most common criticisms I’ve seen for this canon, both book and film, is that people don’t buy Alec and Maurice as a couple, don’t see what they have in common, and can’t imagine them lasting in the long term. I ship it, but I absolutely see where these people are coming from. So Maurice and Alec being pushed together and kept together by an all powerful and very invested Eldritch being.

What would be different if Amma was a teenage boy that murdered other boys with the help of the boys he runs around town with? What would be different if Camille were a man displaying the same behaviors and struggling with the same issues as in canon (or how might those behaviors and issues change)?

ALL: Buffy the Vampire Slayer AU

My first thought for this is Amma the Vampire Slayer with Camille maybe as her Watcher, but I would also totally be into Camille as a semi retired slayer who is inexplicably still alive at her age and is probably holding a record of some sort.

ALL: Characters Have Children Together

I’m not usually the sort to go for ship has a child fic, but since this canon and these characters are so much about the impacts of mother-daughter relationships and the damage they can cause I would be very interested in what it would look like if these two adopted and raised a daughter together. Do all the handwaving you need for that to happen (maybe they started over under fake identities because of Amma’s crimes so no one knows their sisters and they can live as a couple and do couple things like adopt children or maybe one adopts as a single mother on paper but the aunt is so involved that she’s essentially a second mom or whatever else you can think of).

ALL: Dating Sim AU with the protagonist being aware

In my head for this Amma would be the protagonist. Although whether the game is incredibly fucked up (in which case Camille would work equally well as the protagonist) or if the game was intended to be sweet and fluffy school slice of life with like Ann, Natalie, Jodes, Kelsey, and so on as the unproblematic sugar sweet choices and Amma’s violence and pursuit of Camille is rebellion against the code.

All: Hades/Persephone AU

This is entirely because of that scene where Amma is dressed like Persephone, but I could also see her as the Hades to Camille’s Persephone in this scenario. Whether Amma is Persephone with Camille is Hades or the other way around is up to you. I would be interested in either.

Davey Armstrong/Wayne Mackey

The two parts of this movie that stick out strongest in my mind are the part where Mackey tells Davey he wishes he could freeze him at the age of fifteen and the part where Davey sees his picture on Mackey’s wall. I think there’s a lot of potential for disturbing and creepy that went untapped in this film. And well, I love disturbing and creepy. Maybe something from Mackey’s perspective that delves more into his motivations and state of mind as well as his thoughts on Davey. Or maybe canon divergence AU where Davey doesn’t figure out what’s going on at all OR he still catches on but his investigation goes differently, either way that summer their relationship takes an inappropriate turn. Or maybe post canon fic where Mackey returns as promised.

Hamlet/M!Ophelia

I’ve always wanted to see a staging of Hamlet with M!Ophelia. I’m very interested in how seeing a boy treat another boy that way might hit differently than watching a boy treat a girl that way and what that difference might point out about the original text/how we usually interact with the character of Ophelia. Also for a direction other than “the exact same story, except gay this time!” how would things be concretely different with M!Ophelia? The King and Queen wouldn’t be imagining wedding bells for Hamlet and M!Ophelia, if they knew about there being something between them at all they would likely disapprove or not take it seriously, so how would that impact M!Ophelia’s status in Elsinore? How might M!Ophelia’s gender impact his dynamic with his family (side note: the first production of Hamlet I ever saw had Ophelia kissing Laertes in Act IV, scene 5 and Laertes being very broken and conflicted by it and thus I thought Ophelia/Laertes was a standard part of the play for a while, so if you wanna have incestuous undertones or overtones between M!Ophelia and Laertes I give my full blessing)? How would Hamlet think and feel differently about M!Ophelia? Would this change Hamlet’s actions? Would M!Ophelia have handled his situation differently or might he have ended up in a different situation altogether?

As for names, Ophelius is the only masculine equivalent of the name Ophelia I know. Keeping it as Ophelia might also work as well although I think that could depend on which story was being told. Like I imagine it would work best to keep the name as Ophelia for a stage production where the gender was the only change and the script was left otherwise unaltered except like pronouns but am not sold on it working in a prose story exploring things that actually would be different with M!Ophelia. Do with these scattered thoughts what you will.

Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen

M!Georgiana Darcy/George Wickham

So my first thought here is gay blackmail. Or Wickham’s scheme from the book of trying to elope with Georgiana for money is not doable in this AU, but a similar spirited scheme of Wickham seducing M!Georgiana to extort Darcy while also getting under his skin would be. What would this courtship look like? Would this be how M!Georgiana realizes he is gay or was he already aware of his inclinations? Is Wickham genuinely interested in men (or in this case boys because if we place this in the same place in the timeline where the near elopement happened M!Georgiana would be like fifteen) or is he only doing this for what he can get out of it materially? What would be the repercussions of all of this, not just with their dynamics with one another or with Darcy (although I am very interested in Darcy’s feelings about this), but in general?

As for names, the only name I can think of for M!Georgiana is, well, George. If them having the same name is something you wanna play with I say go for it. Some amusing things implying narcissism on Wickham’s part could be done with that. Maybe M!Georgiana goes by Georgie? If you can think of another name for M!Georgiana and would rather use that I also say go for it.

A Room With a View - E. M. Forster

George Emerson/M!Lucy Honeychurch

I remember reading somewhere that Mr. Emerson was inspired by Edward Carpenter. I should fact check that, but anyway reading that made me start thinking about George/M!Lucy. How might their relationship have evolved differently? I think one thing that might have changed is that Charlotte (or M!Charlotte if you feel that would be more appropriate for this story) may not have been concerned about M!Lucy interacting with George as she was about regular Lucy up until she catches them kissing and thus there would have been much less scrutiny over their early run-ins. Or would Charlotte have had suspicions about George’s sexuality leading her to be just as worried if not more so? How would things happen once they were back in England?

As for names I’m drawing a blank as for what M!Lucy could be, so I’ll leave that up to you.

F!George Emerson/Lucy Honeychurch

I can just totally see F!George as a rather unusual lady who absolutely does not go along with what might have been expected of her for the era. She’s independent and strange and has no problems with what others perceive as unladylike (or even masculine) behavior. To be completely honest the main word coming into my mind to describe F!George is “dreamy” but that likely has way more to do with me being a massive lesbian than like stuff that would help pin down how her gender would impact the plot and her place in society. What would Lucy think and feel about F!George? Would meeting her cause Lucy to realize/question the limitations of the life she has been leading? How would their relationship develop? What would Charlotte think of their interactions? What would things be like between them back in England?

As for names, there are a lot of choices for F!George, Georgia, Georgette, Georgiana, and so forth. Go with whichever one you feel is the best fit. You can have her still going by the name George if you want.

F!Freddy Honeychurch/Lucy Honeychurch

I just think this would be really cute. Would F!Freddy be treated differently being a rambunctious girl? Would there be more efforts to control and tame her that utterly fail? What about her interest in medicine? How would they regard each other differently as two sisters? How do romantic and/or sexual feelings end up involved?

As for names, maybe Freddy is short for Winnifred? If you have an idea you like better go for it.

Freddy Honeychurch/M!Lucy Honeychurch

As was the case with the femslash version above, I just think this would be really cute. What would M!Lucy be like? I’m assuming he’d be the heir of Windy Corner instead of Freddy so how might that change things? How might they regard each other differently as two brothers? How do romantic and/or sexual feelings end up involved?

As for names I’m drawing a blank as for what M!Lucy could be, so I’ll leave that up to you.

Scream (Movies)

F!Billy Loomis/F!Stu Macher

Girls being awful monsters is one of my greatest loves so when I saw this in the tagset my immediate thoughts were “YES”. So the two of them getting really into each other while also being really into horror movies and murder. Would any of their horror opinions be different and if so would that have a ripple effect on their murder scheme? On a similar note I really love the commentary on misogyny in horror Scream provides with the way that misogyny is so tangled up with Billy’s motive and justifications and general philosophy. What does all that look like with F!Billy? Internalized misogyny or do her motivations take a different shape?

As for names, do whatever you want. You can keep them exactly the same or switch them out with more feminine variants (maybe Billie for F!Billy and no ideas for F!Stu).

The Alienist (TV)

John Moore/Joseph

I like the idea of John taking in Joseph as a ward post canon with there being a lot of weird tension involving John feeling guilty and Joseph not being sure where he stands in his new life and not enjoying all of society’s rules. Another direction you could go is Joseph continuing to live on the streets and John worrying his head off and there being all sorts of complicated feelings between them. If you have an idea for an entirely different scenario I’m all for it. Either way Joseph reminding John of his dead brother would be cool. If you wanna go AU I would very much read John as a murderer simply because of that moment where John was like “What if I were the killer?” and Joseph was essentially like “Yeah, right.” Him actually being a killer would very much flip the feeling of that on its head. With any canon about fighting crime I have a tendency to try to imagine what the protagonists would be like if their path had lead them to the other side of the equation.

I’m not entirely sure how old Joseph was supposed to be in canon. My best guess is twelve-ish, but I could be off. If you have different ideas regarding his age go for it, but I would prefer that if/when they actually get together Joseph is thirteen or older.

Another Country (1984)

James Harcourt/Tommy Judd

This pairing had never crossed my mind before I saw it in the tagset for this exchange and now I’m intrigued. How would this even happen? Who would initiate this? How does James feel about Tommy’s communism? How does this impact Tommy and Guy’s friendship? What would their dynamic be like once they’re together? What would be their relationship problems? What would be the best parts of their relationship? How long would they last? You don’t have to answer all or even most of these questions, but they are certainly questions I have.

A Room With a View - E.M. Forster

For context I have both read the book and seen the 1985 movie. I have not seen the 2007 film (that from what I’ve heard may have had a different ending?). I also have not read the epilogue because my copy didn’t have that. I've osmosed some of the details from people who disliked it, but they aren’t in my mind while writing these prompts because I don’t own it and haven’t read it.

George Emerson/Freddy Honeychurch

The bath scene is entirely at fault for this. I can see something between being as joyous and free as them playing in that pond or being quite the angsty and serious affair. I’m not sure exactly how to get them together, but I’d be interested to see what you come up with. Maybe an ill advised affair or canon divergence involving Lucy going off on her own without George? Also if you wanted to go a dubcon direction with this I would be a-okay with that.

Freddy Honeychurch/Cecil Vyse

I found their dynamic in the book pretty interesting. With Freddy not liking him very much but not being able to quite put his finger on what it is about Cecil (at least not at first) and Cecil wanting Freddy’s approval (at least at first) while also being rather dismissive of him. Maybe their relationship developing in a new direction post canon (since their outlook on each other seemed to immediately improve after the engagement was broken off) or an encounter between them during the canon era where things aren’t all pleasant.

The Stand - Stephen King

Tom Cullen/Stu Redman

You can blame that part towards the end where they’re trying to get back to Boulder together for this. Maybe something set during that era, love blossoming as they find a way to survive the journey together and support each other. Maybe on the road or in the snow or in the desert or in that motel. Maybe something set after that where it’s canon divergence for the very end because Tom and Stu get together somehow (I’m imagining that Stu and Fran would have amicably split in that).

Randall Flagg/Lloyd Henreid

This is just such a perfect devil and his right hand man ship and I love it so. Just all the gratitude and loyalty from Lloyd and all the shifty at best agendas and nightmarish boundary testing behavior from Flagg. There is an interesting relationship between love and fear for Flagg within Lloyd’s heart in which they are either two entities pulling against each other in a tug-a-war or they are one and the same.

Harold Lauder/Larry Underwood

I want this because of how Harold was a big part of Larry’s morale and perseverance getting to Boulder, even if it was an imagined Harold very far from the real deal. I think it would be interesting to see canon divergence where their relationship goes in a totally different direction once they actually meet and the possible domino effect that might have on the outcome of canon.

Wuthering Heights - Emily Brontë

Hareton Earnshaw/Heathcliff

Something twisty with this pairing would be absolutely great. Heathcliff treats Hareton as a thing he can use to get some form of revenge on people who are already gone, and in return Hareton loves him with all of his heart, possibly because he doesn’t know any other way or possibly because he sees Heathcliff as a savior from something worse. It’s a fucked up and harsh dynamic that I would like the see explored.

She may have been the first lesbian character I ever really got invested in looking back on it. But I am so here for all the possible femslash you can throw this witchy nerd in. The reason they picked the actress they did is that all the other actresses played the lines in a “I’m such a nerd woe is me if only I were cool” way, whereas she played it in a very happy way where it was clear that she was the way she was out of joy. I don’t know if the way I explained that makes any sense, but that’s definitely something I’ve always enjoyed about her character. Also I liked watching how she dealt with the threats and conflicts of the week.

Marvel Cinematic Universe

A note on my stance for Infinity War/Endgame: I don’t feel strongly one way or the other about whether the fic is compliant to those two films. There were events in those films concerning my requested characters that very definitely impacted their dynamic and if you want to stick to that I would be down. However if you wanna diverge completely that’s alright with me as well. I’m kinda neutral. However, for the sake of full transparency I’ll admit that when it comes to this ship/these characters those movies simply don’t enter my mind often. When I think about this ship I’m thinking about the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and what was set up there (which btw I do feel Infinity War and Endgame derailed where those movies wanted to go pretty hard even if I don’t know what was supposed to have come next) and that’s where I tend to be coming from with my prompts. I’m only including this note because I remembered that stuff happened after the two Guardians of the Galaxy movies and I should probably address that.

Gamora/Nebula

I just love these two. So much. I’ll do my best to explain some of what I like about this ship and why without simply repeating the phrases “my heart” and “what more could I ask for” over and over. But like they’re sisters but they come from a context where sisterhood means antagonism and competition, and there are some deep scars as a result of that, but there is love between them despite that somewhere and a desire for a change from the past dynamic but it isn’t easy and they don’t necessarily see things the same way. I love it so much and I ship them so hard. Just 💕💕💕

Requested Horror Types

Cosmic/Lovecraftian Horror

Well, I mean they are from the cosmic portion of the Marvel universe, and Ilike the idea of a space setting for Lovecraftian Horror because like this is already the unknown but now there’s even more unknown beyond that unknown.

Institutional Horror

Does being Thanos’s daughters count as an institution? It seemed more like a military system than a family. I think some great horror could be generated through focusing on that experience and the hierarchy within. Because dear god, that’s all so fucked up. Also I’m not quite sure how much younger than Gamora Nebula is supposed to be. I tend to default to the age difference of the actresses which is like nine years, but feel free to make them closer or farther apart in age if something like that would better suit your purposes. Mentioning that here due to the ways that may or may not play into the power structure.

Killer Horror

Well, they are assassins, so horror focusing on that would be lovely. Or you could go serial killer AU where murder has become something one or both of them do of their own volition or as a hobby. For this prompt I would like it in a canon setting or in a Earth/human/mundane AU (maybe even a period AU on top of that) as long as their fucked up adoptive sister dynamic is preserved when translating them to the AU.

Science-fiction Horror

I couldn’t request this pairing and not give you the option to go for science fiction horror. Like bring it on. There’s a lot of mileage to be gotten from the heartlessness of space and Nebula being a cyborg.

Maurice - E. M. Forster

Clive Durham/Maurice Hall

Oh the pains of a platonic relationship that is in truth very much not that but one person has problems with being gay and has the other person’s heart completely and would this be willingly followed into the dark of course until someone else comes along and steals that heart away to return it and runs off with them into the light. Feel free to set this during that period in canon when they were together or go canon divergence and prevent them from splitting up or from Maurice getting with Alec or not go canon divergence about those things but having them get back together after those events or any other approach you see fit. My prompts are likely kinda all over the place with where they’d fit in the timeline with this one (as well as all over the place in general). My strategy for promoting this canon was throw everything at the wall and maybe something will stick because this isn’t exactly a horror thing by nature.

Requested Horror Types

Cosmic/Lovecraftian Horror

A part of what made me want this canon for a horror exchange in the first place is pure word association. When I first read the book my first association with the name Clive was Clive Barker so I was suddenly remembering stuff from Clive Barker stories from time to time as I read it. I mention this here because I associate Clive Barker with this sort of horror.

I just think putting those sorts of themes and like ripping reality apart by the seams would be fun to put in the Edwardian era. The first thing that comes to mind is that you could do some interesting things with time. What put that in my head is from what I understand (hopefully I wasn’t being lied to) the script they shot for the film was out of chronological order (if I recall correctly, we meet Dickie Barry before we meet Clive) jumping back and forth in time. Ultimately the film was put back in chronological order during the editing process, but the fact that it wasn’t always is more than enough to make me interested in time fuckery. If there are any more fundamental concepts you would like to smash instead/as well go for it.

Folk Horror

Pendersleigh. For some reason Clive’s estate is easy for me to imagine getting twisted into a creepy little community.

Gothic Horror

This is set during the Edwardian era and I love gothic horror, so yes. Just yes. I wish I had fancier things to say about this specific prompt.

Institutional Horror

This specific prompt is gonna take a little context. I have a little story to tell about something called Dark Academia. You might already be familiar. Basically it was a genre that I would describe as a school setting with what the students are studying and/or are independently interested in showing up at least as a pretentious motif if not being directly plot relevant and also something terrible happens. The three things I can recall off the top of my head that were often cited as quintessential examples of this genre were The Secret History by Donna Tartt, The Dead Poets Society (1989) dir. Peter Weir, and Kill Your Darlings (2013) dir. John Krokidas. Those aren’t the only examples that exist (one coming to mind that fills the bill would be The Basic Eight by Daniel Handler), but those seemed to be the canons those really into this genre were super into. A few short years after stumbling across this concept I ventured into the tumblr tag once again looking for examples of this genre and kept seeing Maurice listed as an example. Which was disorientating to say the least. It seems while I wasn’t looking, Dark Academia stopped describing a genre and started describing a subculture/aesthetic. As far as I can parse it my best attempt to explain the new version is deliberately and fashionably pretentious. As long as people are having fun, I’m all for it. Parts of this canon lend well to that scene. However because of that initial shock and attempt to figure out how that made sense, I would love to see Clive/Maurice in a horror story that fits Dark Academia in the old sense, as a genre. I feel like that sort of thing marries to institutional horror quite nicely.

A completely different direction to take this would be reuniting them during WWI. Okay so I’ll admit that I don’t exactly see this canon as having a WWI. I don’t mean in an alternate history sense, but like in that this canon is so deeply rooted in a world that WWI kinda ended, so after the story ends I see life going on but also being frozen in a sense. Like not in a “It’s been 1914 for a century!” way (although if you wanted to use that concept for horror go ahead), but in there being a poetic eternity in the ending. “Maurice and Alec still roam the greenwood” and all that. The most long term detail I have in my head is Clive living to old age and never seeing Maurice again because that’s what the book indicates. I don’t know if any of that makes sense outside of my head. That being said I am willing to throw every last bit of that out the window for the sake of WWI horror. Just horror in the trenches! Horror in the trenches! Horror in the trenches! Okay so like WWI is one of my favorite wars to read about and I just think a WWI horror story would be awesome. Beyond the institutional horror I have to ask, how would a reunion under such circumstances go?

Killer Horror

Serial killer AUs are apparently things I can’t resist asking for even when I’d have no idea what they’d look like. Sorry, I’m not much help in this department, but I’d be super impressed if you did it.

Paranormal Horror

Ghosts! Maybe Clive being haunted by the ghost of Maurice or the two of them encountering vicious ghosts together or any other idea you might have? Another direction you could take is vampires. I’ve always been kinda fascinated by the homoeroticism present in a lot of old timey vampire stories. I have a lot of thoughts on that specific thing that I won’t get into here, but it definitely means adding vampires to this canon is a thing that would interest me. Although who is the vampire would be up to you.

Psychological Horror

I think Clive’s state of mind, particularly with him being gay but filled to the brim with self-loathing, denial, and repression, is something that could lend itself quite well to psychological horror. I mean it’s intense enough that he’s had multiple breakdowns over it. Other than that I really don’t have much to say about this ship and psychological horror other than YES.

Maurice Hall/Alec Scudder

When talking about this novel the author once said, “A happy ending was imperative.” I do think of Maurice/Alec and them being in love and together as that happy ending, and feel that is essential to the point/intent of this canon. That being said for the sake of this exchange there are several things you can do with that concept. You can throw it out the window entirely, have an unhappy ending or turn their relationship into a nightmare. You can make their love the light at the end of the tunnel whilst everything else is terrible. You can make them the horror and even though they are monsters they are monsters together and happy in their love. Or some other angle I haven’t thought of.

What put that in my head is from what I understand (hopefully I wasn’t being lied to) the script they shot for the film was out of chronological order (if I recall correctly, we meet Dickie Barry before we meet Clive) jumping back and forth in time. Ultimately the film was put back in chronological order during the editing process, but the fact that it wasn’t always is more than enough to make me interested in time fuckery. If there are any more fundamental concepts you would like to smash instead/as well go for it.

I thought of this next prompt as a joke but I’m gonna ask for it seriously. So one of the most common criticisms I’ve seen for this canon, both book and film, is that people don’t buy Alec and Maurice as a couple, don’t see what they have in common, and can’t imagine them lasting in the long term. I ship it, but I absolutely see where these people are coming from. So Maurice and Alec being pushed together and kept together by an all powerful and very invested Eldritch being.

Folk Horror

My first thought for this is the greenwood that Maurice and Alec run off to and the lives they lead together within as a source of horror. Another option would be Pendersleigh. I know Maurice and Alec’s time together at Pendersleigh in canon was brief, but I do have a soft spot for fic about them set there, and I can easily imagine twisting Clive’s estate into a deeply creepy little community.

Gothic Horror

This is set during the Edwardian era and I love gothic horror, so yes. Just yes. I wish I had fancier things to say about this specific prompt.

Institutional Horror

Have you ever wanted to write a WWI horror story for Maurice/Alec? Here’s your chance. Okay so I’ll admit that I don’t exactly see this canon as having a WWI. I don’t mean in an alternate history sense, but like in that this canon is so deeply rooted in a world that WWI kinda ended, so after the story ends I see life going on but also being frozen in a sense. Like not in a “It’s been 1914 for a century!” way (although if you wanted to use that concept for horror go ahead), but in there being a poetic eternity in the ending. “Maurice and Alec still roam the greenwood” and all that. The most long term detail I have in my head is Clive living to old age and never seeing Maurice again because that’s what the book indicates. I don’t know if any of that makes sense outside of my head. That being said for fic reasons I have imagined how WWI might have impacted Alec and Maurice and my default tends to be Maurice going and Alec as a conscientious objector or neither of them going choosing to stay in the woods (those are ways I’ve seen other fic handle it that just stuck in my head I guess). Alright now that we’ve covered all of this, because WWI is one of my favorite wars to read about and I think WWI horror sounds awesome I would absolutely put all those feelings aside for the sake of WWI horror. Maybe they’re together in the trenches or maybe they aren’t but either way it is a nightmare.

Serial killer AUs are apparently things I can’t resist asking for even when I’d have no idea what they’d look like. Sorry, I’m not much help in this department, but I’d be super impressed if you did it.

Maurice and Alec still haunt the greenwood. I’m sorry I just couldn’t stop myself from phrasing it that way. But a ghost story could be super cool. Another direction you could take is vampires. I’ve always been kinda fascinated by the homoeroticism present in a lot of old timey vampire stories. I have a lot of thoughts on that specific thing that I won’t get into here, but it definitely means adding vampires to this canon is a thing that would interest me. Although who is the vampire would be up to you.

Folk Horror

I feel like Wind Gap would be a good setting for this. Maybe something exploring the way they are both products of Wind Gap and what that means. How much can the people in Wind Gap and their actions as individuals be divided from Wind Gap as a community? It seems like the sort of town you can absolutely just write evil soaking all the way through and rotting. Also I am never the sort to pass up claustrophobic on the road fic, so if you don’t wanna go with Wind Gap specifically but do want creepy Americana and Camille and Amma in unfamiliar surroundings, fic where they’re on the run together would be a great way to achieve that, just saying.

Gothic Horror

Midwestern gothic! That could be spooky and fun. If you want to put it during a period setting my two suggestions are like 1870s-1910s because that just feels right in my heart (probably because of the whole Calhoun Day thing and there is an inextricable connection in my mind between midwestern America in that time and stuff like axe murder) and 1950s because that was an era with some real darkness running through it and it is remembered as this idealized, wholesome, and simplistic thing that never was and I have a soft spot for stuff that exposes the fucked upedness underneath that aesthetic and I feel like the themes of this canon would be great for this.

Killer Horror

I felt like this was kinda obligatory for this pairing. Maybe stuff set during canon while Camille is investigating Amma’s murders or post canon involving future murders? Maybe stuff from Amma’s POV that involves murder?

Also, serial killer AU. Yes, I know Amma is already a serial killer, but I talked to someone who had misosmosed that this was about lesbian serial killers having a torrid love affair that revolves around killing pretty girls and hurting each other, and I have wanted that ever since. Whether Camille is already a serial killer when she meets Amma or becomes one after they meet is up to you.

Psychological Horror

Amma and Camille both have such fucked up states of mind that I feel like psychological horror would be perfect for them. Don’t be afraid to get dark. I love dark.

Ancient Greek Religion & Lore

Achilles/Troilus

Wasn’t sure where else to put this so I’ll put it here. I am kinda fascinated by Troilus and he’s an old favorite research rabbit hole of mine. Because he originally appeared in Cypria… which has been lost, and then there was a play about him by Sophocles… which has been lost, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. So much has been lost. What we are left with is a character that we only know from sources talking about the lost works from before they were lost that contradict each other and adaptations of parodies of works inspired by lost works. Troilus is a character that continued to appear in new art throughout the centuries with his role constantly shifting with the era (to the point where Shakespeare's version of him doesn’t even die), but due to the gaps in the historical record the motivations and nature behind these shifts aren’t always clear. There are elements to the story where it isn’t clear when that was added and why, a good example being Achilles raping Troilus. Look this is a character where if he was Apollo’s son or lover or actually not really connected to him at all is something that is debated. And I love this because of storytelling and history reasons. It’s a reminder how incredible it is that we know anything about old stories at all, let alone as much as we do. So basically there are a lot of places you can pull from for Troilus’s characterization and I’ll geek out about all of them because I love how many choices there are. Also canon compliance or complete canon divergence would both work for me here (as nebulous as canon is in this circumstance).

AU - Genre Shift

I would love a fic set in antiquity, but I do have a fondness for updating the setting for old stories. Especially with something this ancient. Its permanence has given it a timelessness that makes it feel like it belongs in every era it has survived through. Also I am interested in the way values and morality and stuff like that changes over time and how what’s heroic in antiquity has become monstrous in the modern era and vice versa in some respects and I think updated settings are a good way to explore stuff like that in placing people whose actions and core are based on ancient values in situations closer to today to see how that feels or turns out differently. I will say if you do go this route picking a setting with something that can stand in for the Trojan War would be a good idea. The two actual wars I most associate with The Iliad due to the allusions present in the literature set in these wars I’ve read are WWI and the Vietnam War, although if you wanna write about a different war you can. Although the war doesn’t have to be an armed conflict between two nations, it can be a smaller street level thing like a rivalry between two groups of criminals and the like or it can be in a setting where there is no war beyond the metaphorical which is pressures that make it feel like they are at war. For updated settings my only line in the sand is the final item on my list of DNWs.

Darkfic, Horror

I like reading about violence and dark stuff. Horror is one of my favorite genres. So if you wanna go that way please do. Also Achilles is a character that is often defanged (in my experience of more contemporary interpretations of him with few exceptions) and I find him most interesting when the darker and less pleasant elements are allowed to remain. And that can very much veer into dark territory. Also this is more of a side note but I found Chaucer’s version of Troilus SUPER CREEPY. I know Troilus and Criseyde was a product of ideas about romance from the time, but still. Creepy. So if you wanna go with a darker interpretation of Troilus that’d work for me.

Romeo and Juliet

Quick note on my unrequested m/f DNW for this fandom: usually that DNW would very much apply to canon couples including a requested character, but since this is goddamn Romeo and Juliet, you can include Romeo having feelings for Juliet if you want but I would not want that to be the focus of the fic or how the fic is resolved. I want the main pairing to be my requested pairing. Also that DNW would usually totally apply to non canon m/f background pairings, but in this case if you wanna have Juliet with another man as a background pairing (like say Paris or Tybalt) I’m cool with it. I’d also be cool with Juliet in Shakespeare crossover femslash in the background or m!Juliet in slash for settings where it would be appropriate for Juliet to be a boy, just saying.

Mercutio/Romeo Montague

AU - Genre Shift

Okay I really love Shakespeare and have my entire life (this is not hyperbole, my parents started taking me to Shakespeare plays when I was an infant). My username is a Shakespeare reference for a reason. I think a big part of why Shakespeare has claimed such a permanent spot in my heart is that you can truly do anything with it. Because of how established it is you can rip it up and turn it upside down and stage things however you like as long as you stick with the outline the script gives with its words and keep the heart of the story as you understand it. Like don't get me wrong I like traditional stagings of Shakespeare set in the period they were written about that don’t play with the text much, and if you wrote this to take place in 1300s Italy I’d be into it, but I have a special place in my heart for stagings of Shakespeare that change the setting entirely. They don’t change the text, they still call it Verona, but you know it’s not that anymore. Sometimes these setting changes are done to add meaning and sometimes they are done because they wanted to spend time in that setting. I love it both ways. So WWI? 70s musicians? Poets from the Romantic era? The Weimar Republic? Prohibition era gangsters? Mallrats? Edwardian era boarding school? 1950s Cuba? Prison? Great Depression era Hooverville? Puerto Rico during the Spanish-American War? 1980s Berlin? Teen heartthrob actors? These are just a few ideas. Look, the sky's the limit. Go with any crazy specific AU you want because I love just about everything and there’s something I can appreciate about any era. My only line in the sand is the last item of my DNWs list. Otherwise go wild.

You can take these characters in a lot of different directions and still have them feel like Romeo and Mercutio to me. There hasn’t been too much wild variation in the Romeos I have seen over the years (entirely local productions, I’m not very fancy), they’ve all been completely ruled by passion, while I’ve seen Mercutio that are absolutely nothing like each other on the surface but all worked because they had the same core (a core that is hard to describe but definitely includes a sense of humor, a pain below the surface, and gay… okay I don’t know if that last one is essential but it’s been present to some degree or another in every staging I’ve personally been to that it feels like it is to me at this point and well I am asking for slash fic). So for the minute details of their characterization feel free to go with whatever visions of the characters best suit the direction you’ve chosen to take this. That being said, some things about Romeo and Mercutio I think are underutilized for you to take or leave. Romeo has a sharper edge to him and propensity for violence then he is often depicted as having (#StopCuttingParis’sDeath2k20), although it rarely comes out I am interested in what motivates that part of him. Mercutio being related to Prince Escalus and Paris and that family being technically neutral in the Montague Capulet feud adds an interesting layer to the dynamic between Romeo and Mercutio. I don’t believe the exact blood relation specified so you can go more than one way with it if this comes up in your story. Mercutio as Paris’s brother and Escalus’s son? Mercutio as the distant cousin? But since this is a Mercutio/Romeo story this is an interesting potential created by that for Mercutio to foil Paris. Also I’ve seen stagings where Mercutio is older than Romeo and while I have no quarrel with it and it works just fine my head defaults to them being the same age. Which is of course young. This is very much a play about youth.

AU - Canon Divergence

Considering the plot of the play your options are completely pre-canon, post-canon ghost/afterlife fic, and canon divergence. I would totally read the first two, but for canon divergence maybe Romeo meets Juliet but simply doesn’t fall for her. Maybe Romeo falls for Juliet but his feelings are unrequited. Maybe they fall in love and no one dies but Romeo and Juliet’s love does after a while. Or any other idea for a turning point to change things so that Romeo/Mercutio can happen that you can come up with.

Darkfic, Horror

So I have always wanted to see a staging of Romeo and Juliet that plays it as a horror thriller type of thing. You’d need a vice grip on tone but I think it can work. Playing the romantic beats with uncomfortable levels of intensity and emphasizing the violence would be the first steps. There’s a couple different routes you could go with the comedic beats. I see the potential even if people usually look at me like I have grown a second head when I mention this. But if having this kind of darkness as a part of things is something that would interest you I say go for it. Please.

I don’t know what it’s called but you know those canons where if it’s a television show then an entire season is dedicated to a single case and a troubled in some way but ultimately still a net positive as a person outsider goes into the community and unravels its dark secrets and learns the truth behind the crime? This absolutely flips that sort of thing on its head. So this is an idea that might only work in theory but not in practice but if you wanted to put them in a different subgenre of murder mystery/thriller (like a cozy mystery or gritty noir or conspiracy thriller or whodunit or any other type of thing) to try and deconstruct that, as long as Amma and Camille are still their fucked up selves, I’m here for it.

Canon-Style Plot - Freeform, Character Development, Worldbuilding

So I got the DVD for this in the bargain bin a few years ago, but only just now got around to it and really enjoyed it. I was happy to see this in the tagset! I liked the interactions we saw between these two and would like to see these characters and their relationship fleshed out (as well as the world’s around them). Blondie as the tough girl with vulnerabilities beneath and Amber as the kindest of the group. Something about them just fits together. Established relationship or them becoming a couple would both work for me. Them going on a campaign in the battle reality could be a lot of fun. Just the two of them or them in the whole group. I am kinda curious about the history of that particular world and how they became a part of that fighting unit, and would love to see more of their fighting dynamic and battlefield romance is true romance. Stuff from brothel/dance reality would be interesting although I don’t have much in the way of plot ideas for that beyond vague stuff like pre-canon. I think the world I’m most itching to see them in would be the asylum reality/reality reality because it’s the one we see the least of. We only see that version of Blondie briefly and I’m not sure we see that Amber at all. How did these two end up in the asylum? How long have they been there? What did the events of the movie look like in real life (for example the director said they didn’t die in the real world, but then that leaves the question of what did happen in the real world instead)? Might they ever get out? Is there anything about the dynamic there that doesn’t appear in the realities where we do see them interact.

The book made me ship this so hard. I am requesting the movie incarnations of the characters, but if you could find ways to incorporate parts of their book dynamic like Eddie idolizing Bill and Bill projecting his brother issues onto Eddie and make it work for these versions of the characters I would love it. That being said Bill’s protectiveness and Eddie’s bravery are both traits of theirs I find interesting and I feel like this is a good ship to explore those things with. I think a big part of what draws me to these two is that their issues line up in a lot of places in such a way that if they got together it could be a nightmare or they could really help each other heal and move forward. Maybe both. And I like all options (although for post Chapter 2 fic I have a preference for healing in most scenarios, but anytime before that point I’m here for it all). I’m imagining Bill as kind of the ring leader here and analyzing his leadership in this context could be interesting but also how did he get Eddie into this and how does Eddie feel about this? Bill taking an interest in Eddie because he fits his preferred victim profile could be twisty fun. I would also be really into them reuniting as adults where one or more of them has grown up to be a murderer.

Alternate Universe - Vampire

I have read a lot of vampire fiction in my time and I still somehow want more. So all the blood and psuedoincest that comes with vampires. There’s great horror potential in them being stuck at a young age as vampires forever, but if you wanna write them as adults there is something appealing to me about the concept of adult vampire Bill slinking around the less shiny parts of LA.

So there’s a couple ways to go with this. Maybe this is an AU where he survived the summer of 89 and grew up to be a serial killer and Richie runs into him as an adult or an AU where Patrick had already started killing by the summer of 89 and was responsible for some of the disappearances. Either one could be super fucked up in the best ways. This isn't a route you have to go down if you pick this sort of AU, but Patrick corrupting Richie onto a darker path would be something I would be very interested in.

So I went into this movie having already read about how Megan Fox said she played Jennifer as a deeply closeted lesbian, and it resulted in me my read of the character being much more vulnerable and tragic (and maybe also softer? I’m not sure if that’s the word I’m looking for) then it possibly would have been if it didn’t go in with that (I’m honestly not sure what I would have made of her in that case). Like I’ve read a few think pieces about how Jennifer totally owns her sexuality, but I honestly ended up seeing her as like the opposite of that due to the context I went in with (which was basically the only thing I knew about the film going in other than horror). I ended up seeing a girl who couldn’t accept herself and desperately wished she could be someone else, who’s persona was almost entirely performance with some truth slipping out. And this is definitely what made me fall for this ship so hard. Because like with the lens I went in with I took it for granted that Jennifer was in love with Needy. I got the impression she wanted her best friend to be her girlfriend as well but also didn’t want to cross that line.

I feel Milverton is a really underutilized villain when it comes to Sherlock Holmes adaptations, and I would love to see your take on him for this verse. What is the nature of his blackmail? So this has been in my head since I read the book and Eddie was described as looking like Tony Perkins. These two would have a lot to bond over. You can write this with book Eddie or movie Eddie, either way works for me, I like both versions. Also do whatever you want with the timelines to make this work, set it in the 50s, 80s, current day, whatever works. They can be the same age or Eddie could be much younger. I’m here for it all. Also I can absolutely picture these two being related (whether it be cousins or long lost brothers or whatever) and incest is something that works so well with their issues so if that’s a direction you’d wanna go, do it. If not that’s cool too. My ideas for how they could meet is maybe they start writing letters while Norman is in jail or maybe Norman comes to stay with Eddie while evading capture.

Benoit Blanc & Amma Crellin

Benoit Blanc on the case for something Amma has done sounds fun as hell. How would he figure things out and what would he make of her? Would she take him seriously?

I just saw this in the tagset and was like “yes!” Maybe they meet after their canons as the sole heiresses of massive fortunes and really hit it off. These two would have a lot to connect over and I think they would really appreciate each other.

Amma Crellin/Amy Elliott Dunne

How would Amma and Amy feel about each other? Would they have a strange rivalry with weird romantic overtones or would they openly adore each other feeling that they’ve found someone who gets it or somewhere in between? If Amma enters the picture before Amy’s plan would her presence change it at all?

Amma Crellin/Beverly Marsh

I would read this with teen Bev or adult Bev. For teen Bev maybe after Derry she moved with her aunt to Wind Gap or Saint Louis and meets Amma who finds Bev’s resemblance to the photos of her sister at a younger age intriguing. Do whatever you want with the timeline (shoving Sharp Objects back into the 80s or bringing teen Bev to the modern day) to make that work. For adult Bev I’m not entirely sure how they meet but Amma imprints onto her hard. Either way I think obsession and blood would be good for this.

Beverly Marsh/Camille Preaker

There are a lot of directions you could go timeline wise with this. Maybe they’re both teens who look a lot alike, maybe one is a teen and one is an adult haunted by the other’s resemblance to their younger self, maybe they’re both adults running into each other at a rough point. I am into all of these options. But what impression what they get of each other? How would they grow closer? Also some things that could be interesting to explore with this would be their respective family issues, Bev’s blood issues, Camille’s self harm, just all of their issues.

DCU (Comics)

Bart Allen/Wally West

Just them not getting along at all and fighting all the time. Wally thinking Bart is an annoying immature brat and wanting very little to do with him and Bart finding Wally to be kinda stiff and unkind in return. Deep down Bart just wishes Wally liked him and doesn’t understand why he doesn’t. To Wally’s credit he does care about Bart. Deep down. In his own way. What would it look like if they became romantically and/or sexually entangled if what I just described was the state of their relationship up to that point? Probably an ill-advised disaster, but that’s what I’m here for. If you wanna go AU maybe canon divergence the Garricks for whatever reason were unavailable so Wally had to take in Bart himself or a cop and robber AU. Also I’d totally be into this pairing as femslash.

Cassandra Cain/Rose Wilson

I think they compliment each other well. In some ways they are going in opposite directions while in others they are running right at each other. Whether they clash or get along really well their dynamic is bound to be interesting. I can see them understanding one another in a way no one else can. Both characters have interesting relationships with violence. How do they differ and how are they similar? Would that be something that drives them together? Also if you wanted to go AU a not-superhero AU where Rose is a hitwoman and Cass is a high schooler overly invested in her ballet class and has a dark past and they somehow meet would be brilliant, just saying.

IT (Movies - Muschietti)

Connor Bowers/Henry Bowers

Connor coming to live with Uncle Butch and Cousin Henry for the summer and something happens between him and Henry. Whether it’s an actual affair or just a lot of creepy tension, I see potential for Henry being frighteningly possessive and it all being very twisted. Connor didn’t have much screen time but I was left with the distinct impression he was afraid of Henry and that could be something interesting to explore in this context. Also one of them looking back on their dynamic after Henry’s arrest could be interesting.

Connor Bowers/Richie Tozier

Connor wasn’t on screen for very long but what we did get has me interested in seeing more interactions between him and Richie. I got the impression from the arcade scene that Connor was also gay and liked Richie. Was that time at the arcade during the movie their first time playing together or had there been previous times they’d played together (or seen each other outside the arcade)? Had Connor heard rumors about Richie before they met (or right after they met)? Gay rumors that he found… intriguing. Also what was their first time interacting after the arcade scene like? What about after Henry’s arrest? Richie and Connor sneaking around would be relevant to my interests. Them running into each other as adults and getting together would be cool. Also I am open to all sorts of interpretations of Connor from actually an okay dude to fucked up and manipulative. I personally tend to read him as not a bad kid, just closeted, scared, and concerned for his safety, but he is a Bowers and I’m here for the angst that comes with less nice interpretations of him.

Henry Bowers/Mike Hanlon

I can really easily see Henry being attracted to Mike and that factoring in to his animosity towards him. His feelings are something dark and violent, whether they started that way or he twisted them into that. I can’t really imagine Mike reciprocating, but I’m willing to be convinced otherwise. Maybe if Mike convinced himself he could fix Henry?

Henry Bowers/Patrick Hockstetter

The main thing I want to see here is a power struggle. Henry wants to be the boss with Patrick as his vicious guard dog but he can’t exactly control or predict Patrick which leads to an uncertainty about who’s in charge after all. Henry trying to establish dominance and Patrick messing with him the whole way through. If you wanna go AU a mundane AU where the Bowers gang is responsible for the child disappearances could be interesting, and something about the Bowers gang feels just right for a werewolf AU. Also I would 100% be into a Rule 63 femslash version of this pairing.

Bill Denbrough/Eddie Kaspbrak

Bill’s protectiveness is a trait of his I really find intriguing as is Eddie’s bravery and this is a pairing that I think goes well with exploring those traits. Also Bill projecting Georgie issues onto Eddie and Eddie projecting his own issues right back onto Bill is definitely a thing from the book, but if you could somehow fit that into the dynamic between these versions of the characters I would absolutely love it. Them being a little codependent post Chapter 1 would be A+. Oh! An Eddie lives AU where he ends up with Bill would be spectacular. For other AU concepts maybe vampires or serial killers or Golden Age of Hollywood (all AUs I’d honestly be into for most of these ships, but I’ve definitely thought about them more with this pairing since that’s what I asked for with this pairing for the AU exchange). I would also be very into a Rule 63 femslash version of this pairing.

Patrick Hockstetter/Richie Tozier

So the way Patrick looks at Richie has always creeped me out but since the second movie came out there’s an added sense of dread. Because before it was like “wow Patrick is a creep what a perfect establishing moment for such a fucked up character” and it’s still that but now there’s “oh god, what’s the history there, did something happen, what has Patrick done?” in the mix too. It’s possible Patrick hadn’t done anything, but the question is still there. So one of the possibilities would be precanon creepiness, answers to those questions. Another route you could take would be Patrick lives AU (either mundane or IT simply doesn’t kill him, maybe IT killed Henry or Belch instead?) that shows the horrors Richie would have encountered during that summer or Patrick living to adulthood and no doubt becoming a serial killer and he and Richie run into each other and start dating. Another possible AU would be werewolf AU, y’know to capitalize on Richie’s fear of wolves and how predatory Patrick is. Also I would very much read a Rule 63 femslash incarnation of this ship.

Reginald "Belch" Huggins/Eddie Kaspbrak

The baseball section book left me with the impression that Eddie had a crush on Belch, and I just think it would be really fun to see that crush applied to the movie versions of the characters. How does Eddie feel about his feelings and why does he feel the way he does? Is it entirely physical or does he see something in Belch no one else does? What does Belch think of Eddie? If you wanted to Rule 63 this into femslash I’d be down.

Eddie Kaspbrak/Stanley Uris

They are the first of the group to die and I have so many feelings about it. I also think their personalities would go together well and they’d make a lovely couple. They’d balance each other out in a lot of ways. The book gave me the impression that Stan was psychic and while I think that is not the case in the movies, I’d still be really interested in fic where Stan was aware of his and Eddie’s eventual fates and felt a special kinship with Eddie because of it. Or fic about them falling in love in the afterlife would be cool. Maybe AU where they both survive Chapter 2 but are also the only two surviving Losers. Also I would read a Rule 63 femslash version of this pairing.

Gretta Keene/Beverly Marsh

My wants here are simple. I just want them to somehow meet and fall in love. Maybe post Chapter 2 they run into each other and find they have a lot to bond over. Maybe Patty comes into contact with Audra while trying to figure out Stan’s letter. Maybe things turned out way differently and the Losers end up in jail accused of IT’s crimes (or their crimes if this is a total AU) and come together while picking up the pieces of their lives.

Richie Tozier/Stanley Uris

I think their dynamic is a lot of fun, but boy does it have the potential to hurt me. So bring the pain is what I say. My general impression of their relationship is that they’ve known each other forever and understand each other on a different level because of that. I also think Richie would stick up for Stan no matter what even if he can be flippant about Stan and that Stan’s death truly hurt him. The last time I wrote a prompt for this ship was before Chapter 2 came out and the words that came to mind were chaos and decay and they still feel like they work however you may interpret that. There is definitely room for funny fluff set during their teen years with killer dramatic irony. I would be interested in Richie having abandonment issues and Stan making promises he can’t keep. Them dealing with PTSD symptoms and being super codependent post Chapter 1 would be great. I think Stan knew Richie was gay so his perspective on that would be interesting. Richie realizing he has feelings for Stan and freaking out. Them worrying about each other. Stan’s perfectionism. AU where Stan survives his suicide attempt but Eddie still dies and Richie clings to Stan and they end up together. Also I would totally read a Rule 63 femslash version of this pairing.

IT - Stephen King

Bill Denbrough/Bradley Donovan

I’m probably the only person who wants this, but handwave when Bill left Derry in the book (this fandom does that all the time) and have them get together in high school. Also what did Bradley go on to be after that summer? I can see him being a bully, which could be interesting and set this up for a very ill advised thing. If you don’t want to go with the high school route maybe them crushing on each other in speech class.

Will Hanlon/Dick Hallorann

Mr. Keene/Eddie Kaspbrak

I found Mr. Keene to be a rather disturbing character and the descriptions of how he smiled as he told Eddie the truth about his medicine stuck with me. So just more uneasy and fucked up moments between the two of them.

Beverly Marsh/Kay McCall

The first two words that come to mind when I think of this pairing are adoration and support. Maybe an AU where they kill Tom and go on the run together. Or maybe after coming back from Derry and forgetting everything Bev wants to be with Kay instead of Ben.

Knives Out (2019)

I just wanted to say that while my unrequested m/f DNW typically extends to background pairings, for this fandom I’m totally cool with Benoit Blanc/Marta Cabrera or Ransom Drysdale/Marta Cabrera being a thing (I actually ship them both, but decided to prioritize no fic pairs in this fandom for this exchange) as long as the requested ship is still the focus. While I prefer Marta and Harlan’s relationship being platonic or, if romantic, one sided on Harlan’s part, the Thrombeys speculating on the true nature of their relationship is free game.

Linda Drysdale/Harlan Thrombey

My prompt for this one is rather simple: the games they play. I have thoughts on their dynamic and how they seemed to have a genuine bond but it all comes back to the games they play.

Ransom Drysdale/Harlan Thrombey

I was very interested in what the movie had to say about their bizarre love hate dynamic and would love to see some of it. Their mutual flair for the dramatic, how Ransom could beat Harlan at go and took pride in that assuming it was a unique trait. Harlan said he could see himself in Ransom and I’m interested in why. Was Harlan more or less just like Ransom when he was younger with the main difference being that he was new money or is it some other reason? Also does Ransom in turn see himself in Harlan? As for the incest angle of this prompt, was it a one time thing they don’t discuss or has it been a continuing thing?

Harlan Thrombey/Walt Thrombey

Walt is very dependent on Harlan and is both unhappy with where this leaves him because he wants more and wouldn’t have it any other way. Does Harlan enjoy having Walt under his thumb or did he used to before a change of heart? A combination of reverence and resentment from Walt towards Harlan is very likely. How did they get to the point they’re at in the film dynamic wise? Did the death of Neil, the older son, impact their relationship? Tangent but on that note what were their relationships with Neil like? If I had to describe Walt one of the first words that would come to mind is weak. I think that’s something Harlan can see in Walt. However just because he’s weak doesn’t make him not dangerous and if he is capable of harm it is precisely because he’s weak. That, I’m not sure if Harlan can see. Also when Harlan called Walt a good boy. Yes, that’s a complete prompt.

Jacob Thrombey/Walt Thrombey

The impression I left the movie with is that Walt absolutely adores Jacob and feels that they are close, but is absolutely blind to his faults. Some of it may come from genuine ignorance but I think a larger portion of it is willful. Part of it may be because he’s unwilling to take Jacob off the pedestal of perfect son, part of it may be that he doesn’t have the strength to step in and prevent Jacob from going down the path he’s going down, and part of it may be that he doesn’t mind what Jacob has become as much as he knows he should. Jacob is awkward and cowardly but is still an internet creep with horrific views. Also what does Jacob think of Walt anyway? I feel like there’s a lot of room for something twisted here.

Amma fixating on Camille, idealizing her. Amma’s murders all being in some way about Camille (even before they met because her first two victims were girls that Adora paid attention to because they reminded her of Camille). Camille’s self harm and Amma violence. The way their mother fucked them up. Amma trying to manipulate Camille. Amma getting insanely jealous about Camille. Camille trying her best to be there for Amma and do right by her and the motherhood related baggage that comes with that. Amma wanting to sleep in Camille’s bed always. All the obsession and possession. The way Camille connects Amma to dead girls she has loved in her mind. I really love basically the everything about this ship so just fuck me up tbh.

Amma Crellin/Kelsey Wheeler/Jodes

Whoever nominated this, you read my goddamn mind. I was gonna nominate this and was shocked when I didn’t have to. So you have done me a great service. Anyway. I would love to see more into the specifics of their dynamic, roller skating around and doing violent deeds. Los Espookys (TV)

Have you ever watched Scooby Doo and wondered what the other side of that looks like? That’s basically what this show is. It’s a Spanish language (with English subtitles, and Spanish subtitles during English scenes) comedy about a group of friends who work as horror technicians doing things like faking a possession so that a priest can look good and creating cryptid hoaxes for tourism. It’s weird and wonderful and there’s nothing else like it.

Andrés Valdez, Juan Carlos

You know those shows and movies where in order to make you route for a relationship they give a girl a preexisting relationship with a guy who’s just the worst? That’s Juan Carlos de Leon in a nutshell, except he’s gay and there is no other guy in the picture for his fiancée, Andés. He’s so awful it circles back around to hilarious. “You know I hate hideous things. When I watch Beauty and the Beast I skip the scenes with the Beast.” and whatnot. And I love Andrés’s whole personality and sense of drama. I would love to see more of their dynamic and what they really think and feel about each other. Pre-canon would be good. I’m also intrigued by the idea of Juan Carlos genuinely taking an interest Andrés for the first time now that it’s over and wanting to get him back post season 1. The way he looked at him at the end of the last episode gave me that vibe.

I Am Not Okay With This - Charles Forsman

So this is a graphic novel by the same guy who wrote The End of the F***ing World. It has roughly the same art style as all the old newspaper strips like the Peanuts and the main protagonist looks quite a bit like Olive Oyl from Popeye. It’s about fifteen year old Syd who struggles with her sexuality (I’m unsure if she was intended to be gay or bisexual, I tend to lean towards lesbian still figuring herself out due to a couple factors within the story but can also see a bisexual reading) and having superpowers. It doesn’t go well.

Quick note on how to deal with my recreational drug use DNW for this canon: I’m okay with it being referenced since it comes up a lot in this canon (whereas with any other canon I wouldn’t want it to be referenced at all). However I do not want it shown in text or discussed at length.

Sydney “Syd”

I would just like to see more of her. This graphic novel went by pretty quickly. I would be really interested to see more of her time with Ryan and how that relationship developed. That would be great. Also I’d love to see more interactions with her family or how she came to fall for Dina. Other characters reactions to her death would be interesting as well. Also her struggling with her powers and all her general teenage angst and angst about her father! If you wanna write an AU where she lives and what would have happened after I would not be opposed. So yeah, just more Syd.

IT (Fukunaga Script 2015)

So before we got the IT movies that we have now the project was in development hell for a really long time. At one point Cary Fukunaga was hired onto the project. He wrote two very different versions of a script, 2014 and 2015, before he was fired and Andy Muschietti was brought to the project. This is the 2015 version of the script.

I’m just gonna say this here because it doesn’t exactly fit into my prompts about either character, but the reason this appeals to me so much is that I am a huge “what could have been” nerd. I am fascinated by how movies are made and how easily they can fall apart and go in different directions. If I could have any superpower I would pick dimension hopping and I would use it exclusively to watch movies that were either never made or could have been way different then what we got. I also like to think about these things on a fandom level because apparently questions like “What would MCU fandom look like if The Winter Soldier was unpopular?” are fun for me. So if you wanted to get meta about those aspects, while I’m not sure how you’d do that in fic, I welcome it with open arms.

Also you do not have to include both requested characters in fic. Just as long as you include one we’re good.

Richie Goldfarb

I’m requesting Richie Goldfarb because technically speaking he only exists in this version of canon so that makes him intriguing for me. Tell me about his internalized homophobia and his family issues. I got the impression that Will and Eddie (and possibly Mason, the clerk Pennywise was pretending to replace “Mason told me about you”) knew he was gay even though he wasn’t out so that could be something to explore. Also what does he grow up to be? Since he’s a composite character does he follow more in Richie Tozier’s footsteps as an adult or Stan Uris’s? Or does he take his own path altogether.

If you wanna write ship fic I’m open to putting him with any guy from this canon from Will (the boy next door) to Eddie (who was adorable in this version) to Mike (who this script did dirty and I would love to see this version fleshed out) to Ben (the possible shared suicidality could be an interesting thing to explore) to Travis (who read as being possibly gay in this as well) to the clerk (just all the fucked upedness).

Beverly Marsh

Beverly has consistently through all continuities been a character heavily shaped by her father’s abuse. This version had a scene between Pennywise and Alvin Marsh that I found fascinating and would love to see the implications and their effect on his relationship with Bev explored. Also how does his death affect Bev and how does she turn out differently as a result? What is this Bev like as an adult? The script made me wonder if Ben would have killed himself as an adult because no Stan (it would either been Richie, Ben, or no suicide at all) so what would Bev’s adult storyline look like if that were the case. Also I got a creepy incest vibe from Bev’s mom as well as her father so if you wanna explore that feel free. Also I got the feeling that Mike might have had a crush on her and it you wanted to do something with that I would be interested to see it.

I’ve always wondered how the plot would have gone if the painting resembled Charley instead. The canon divergence would probably happen almost immediately considering that Jerry and Charley cross paths way sooner than Jerry and Amy. Also the movie never addresses this, but who exactly was that person in the painting? Did they have some great romance with Jerry or did they slip away from him? Would Charley be a reincarnation of this person or is the resemblance pure coincidence?

As for role reversal/swap I was thinking AU where Charley is a vampire and Jerry isn’t. Like maybe it could be that Jerry moves into a new neighborhood and begins to suspect that the teenage boy in the house next to him is really a vampire.

The serial killer AU tag would essentially just be a human AU, where instead of Charley realizing he lives next to a vampire, he realizes he lives next to a serial killer. What would this version of Jerry want from Charley and how would Charley’s response differ (if at all)?

IT (2017)

One of the things that endears IT to me the most is how that even without Pennywise these kids’ lives would still be pretty twisted. A mundane AU still has the potential to be a complete horror show. Arguably the child eating monster provided the Losers with much needed escapism. Which is why I’m requesting the tag “Bowers Gang is responsible for all the child disappearances” because that’s technically a mundane AU, there’s no scary clown, but it’s still an urgent and dangerous situation. In the case of this pairing specifically, oh boy that has the potential to get fucked up. Especially since I’m not really thinking of the serial killer AU tag not to be completely distinct from this one in the case of this specific pairing (well, except that with the serial killer AU tag you could have Eddie himself go down a darker path). It’s made scarier by how basically nothing would have to change about Henry’s character. Just make it disturbing as hell.

As for “Dating Sim AU with the protagonist being aware” what sort of dating sim would this even be? Like would it be more so a horror game that has romance options that the whole fan base just plays as if it were intended to be a dating simulator? Or was it designed to be a dating simulator but it just has some really fucked up stuff in it? With the awareness part I’m less interested in the protagonist being aware that they are a video game character specifically (although it’s fine if they are) and more interested in them being aware that they aren’t in control of their own choices and that the timeline starts over or goes back from time to time. For this pairing specifically I’m sorta assuming Eddie would be the protagonist (although if you wanna do it the other way that also works), and my question is if Henry was even supposed to be a romance option (like as a bad end or dark route) or if this is the result of a glitch or mod?

I requested the “Genderswap to all female cast” tag because I love me some femslash. Also because the idea of a story like IT but exclusively about girls appeals to me. And the femslash that would come from that appeals to me as well because I’m only human. How would changing this pairing from m/m to f/f change the dynamic? One thing I love seeing and want to see more of is girl characters who are evil and cruel and brutal and fucked up in the exact way we’ll let boy characters be evil and cruel and brutal and fucked up. That’s essentially exactly what I would want from F!Henry. Themes of bottled up emotions and anger and complex mother daughter relationships would be some things that would likely be worthwhile to explore with F!Eddie. As for names I think keeping F!Henry’s name as Henry (or Henri, spelling is up to you) and having it short for Henrietta (whether that comes up in fic or not) could work. I really like the name Addie for F!Eddie. Edie always works for me. If you have other name ideas go ahead. Also feel free to mix this specific prompt with any of the other prompts.

Is Henry an actor or is he part of the industry in some other way? What sort of movies are Eddie in and what sorts of parts does he get? Back in that era the studio an actor worked for essentially owned them and would do all they could to control their personal and professional lives so the public only saw the specific version of them that the studio was selling. So what’s the image of Eddie Kaspbrak the studio is projecting how does it differ from the reality of his situation? What are the horrors in his life the studio is determined to never let see the light of day?

I requested the vampire AU tag because I have consumed far too much vampire fiction in my day and yet somehow I still want more. With this particular pairing my mind immediately jumps to Henry as the vampire and Eddie as the prey who isn’t going down without a fight. Or maybe something involving Eddie resenting his own vampirism. If you have another idea go for it.

What are the horrors in their lives the studio is determined to never let see the light of day? Was Georgie a child actor as well or was he out of the limelight? Was Georgie’s death publicized or was it something the studio managed to keep the press from talking about and are trying to keep it that way (if Georgie was never a child actor then maybe the studio is trying to pretend there never was a Georgie Denbrough)? I can see either (having his pain be a spectacle or having to suffer in silence) being painful for Bill. On a related note one thing I am always up for is Bill’s grief affecting his romantic and/or sexual feelings towards Eddie. Whether he’s more drawn to Eddie than he otherwise would have been or just as attracted Eddie as he used to be but now that attraction makes him want extra things from him that he didn't want before because he didn’t need a little brother figure those things when Georgie was alive or anything else you can think of. Especially if it has the potential to interact with Eddie wanting an older brother or father figure in his life dangerously. Just make it twisted and I’ll be happy.

As for the serial killer AU tag it’s essentially just the darkest way things can turn out with their fuckedupedness. Would they be a killer couple or is it just one of them that’s the serial killer? Is this something that began during their teen years or is this something that starts in their adult years? If it’s the former then I’m thinking teens running around Derry doing awful things which means everything is normal, and if it’s the latter then I’m thinking it’s a story about them coming back into each other’s lives again as adults and really hitting it off but in the time since they left Derry one or both of them has started killing. If Bill is a serial killer do his kills have anything to do with Georgie or his creative interest in horror? If Eddie is a serial killer do his kills have anything to do with the whole munchausen by proxy situation or bottled up rage?

I requested the vampire AU tag because I have consumed far too much vampire fiction in my day and yet somehow I still want more. One thing I tend to be interested in are the weird family dynamics that come with vampirism. Like how a vampire’s sire is their father but also not. I’m always here for these two having a fucked up pseudo-familial/pseudo-incestuous relationship (especially if it’s in the form of Bill having a little brother shaped void in his life and trying to fill it or at least distract from it with Eddie while Eddie wants a father figure or big brother and he just let’s Bill fill that role, but also their relationship is romantic and/or sexual at the same time all that is going on). Another thing I’d like with these two as vampires is loyalty. Intense loyalty.

The serial killer AU tag is there because I love stories about women and girls who are wicked, evil, awful, brutal, violent, malevolent, cruel, and awful. Just unrestrained terrible. It doesn’t get much more unrestrained terrible than this. One thing that could be interesting to explore in this context is Bev’s fear of blood (and what are the odds Gretta would mock her for it? high).

I requested the vampire AU tag because I have consumed far too much vampire fiction in my day and yet somehow I still want more. What has me intrigued is just how awful being a vampire would be for Bev. Considering her deep fear of blood and all that represents she would have such a hard time with it. Becoming a vampire is quite possibly one of the worst things that could possibly happen to Bev. That’s what makes the idea of it so interesting. It’s perfect.

For “Noah is alive while Adam Blue Ronan and Gansey are ghosts”, I’m kinda picturing it as an age swap thing as well, with Adam, Blue, Ronan, and Gansey having all been dead for seven years while Noah is a living high school student. He is being so haunted, but at least he likes it. I like the way this would change the dynamic of things a whole lot in that there is a larger gap in how other people perceive the group vs how the group perceives the group than there is in canon. Because in canon people are just one person short whereas here Noah would look pretty isolated. For this pairing specifically how did Gansey die? In this universe was Gansey the one to befriend and be murdered by Whelk and years later Noah is a student of Whelk’s that he’s particularly fond of? Or maybe Gansey was stung to death by bees as a teenager while Noah narrowly avoided being sacrificed by Whelk (who I’m picturing as being around Gansey’s age) as a child? If you have a different idea go for it, but I would love it Gansey’s death created a connection between them like Noah’s death did.

I requested the “Genderswap to all female cast” tag because I love femslash and love the idea of these pairings as femslash. That’s essentially the only reason why but it’s a noble one if you ask me. How would changing this pairing from m/m to f/f change the dynamic? When it comes to names for the girl versions of these characters I have no idea. I think that the characters primarily known by a last name basis should probably stay that way, but other than that just do what you think is best. A lot of Gansey’s character is masks and differing self presentation depending on context, what does that look like with F!Gansey? Also feel free to mix this specific prompt with any of the other prompts.

So just go all out with that. Also how does Noah feel about this? Is he an innocent in this or is this a dark interpretation of Noah as well? The dynamic between a serial killer and a ghost has potential to be really interesting due to them both having undeniable connections to death that twist them closer together even though their relationships to it are at least seemingly diametrically opposed. On a completely opposite note another way you could do it that I’d also be interested in would be an alive Noah who’s roughly the same age as Gansey (maybe slightly younger actually because one thing I find interesting about Noah is how while he’s chronologically the oldest of the friend group he also ends up being the youngest, and in an AU where he’s a living peer of Gansey and Adam and so on if it comes up at all it is more important to me to preserve the youngest part than the technically the oldest part because as a ghost the oldest part manifests in his taste and such while the youngest part manifests in behavior and dynamics which is what would be more important to translate to such an AU) because why the hell not? Go with whichever one you feel would better suit your purposes.

Amma Crellin (Sharp Objects - Gillian Flynn)/Amy Elliott Dunne (Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn)

I’m thinking maybe an AU at the end of Sharp Objects where instead of Amma going to prison Camille moves them to Missouri right next door to the Dunnes. If you have another idea for a way to put these two together I’d be all for it. How would Amma and Amy feel about each other? Would they have a strange rivalry with weird romantic overtones or would they openly adore each other feeling that they’ve found someone who gets it or somewhere in between? If Amma enters the picture before Amy’s plan would her presence change it at all?
Also just for clarity’s sake I have both seen the movie and read the book for Gone Girl, but for Sharp Objects I only read the book.

Cassandra Cain/Rose Wilson

Given the trajectories of their lives and how they are both going opposite directions and the same way at the same time I think it would be very interesting to see them come together whether they clash or get on famously. I can see them really understanding each other in a way that no one else does (and that not necessarily being a good thing). Maybe Rose runs towards violence while Cass is trying to leave it behind. Also if you wanted to go AU a not-superhero AU where Rose is a hitwoman and Cass is a high schooler overly invested in her ballet class and has a dark past and they somehow meet would be brilliant, just saying.

Tara Markov/Rose Wilson

Considering Tara’s past with Slade Wilson, her entering into a relationship with Rose Wilson has the potential to be delightfully fucked up and I am here for every moment of. I like Tara to be a little bratty and for Rose to react to it. I like Rose to feel for Tara’s past, even a little bit, and for Tara not to know that. My mental image for this is old brick buildings, cigarettes, and bloody noses. Make of that what you will.

Tragedy Girls (2017)

Sadie Cunningham/McKayla Hooper

A continuation of their reign of terror whether it be the murders they committed pre canon or how college goes post canon.
They are both shown to have loving families and I would love some elaboration on that.
Creepy/weird and slightly inappropriate roleplay. Like maybe murderer and victim or two murderers but different from reality somehow (if you have any ideas about what that could be other than that go for it, I’d be happy to see it).
Blood, sadism, and bears! Oh my! Okay the bears aren’t really a part of the prompt (although teddy bears are cute and I love them very much), but their love of violence definitely is. If you can incorporate that I’ll love you forever.
Power dynamics. Like maaaaaan, this ship was practically built for power dynamic stuff. Sadie definitely has the control. Hands down, she’s the dominant one, but McKayla is arguably the more dangerous one. It could be fun to play with.
Them taunting a victim could be a lot of fun. I would personally prefer this victim to be a girl.
The juxtaposition between girly things and murder things was one of things that really cemented this movie in my heart and it would be cool to include that here.

F!Bart Allen/F!Wally West

Just them not getting along at all and fighting all the time due to general personality conflict and legacy related issues. A whole lot of bickering. F!Wally wanting nothing to do with F!Bart and seeing her as an immature brat with these manic pixie dream girl tendencies that drive her up the wall. F!Bart seeing F!Wally as stiff and unkind in return. As much as F!Bart might fire back underneath it all she doesn’t understand why F!Wally doesn’t like her and really wants her to. To F!Wally’s credit she does care about F!Bart. Deep down. In her own way. If this was the general state of their relationship before they somehow ended up sexually and/or romantically entangled… it would be a disaster (even if this had a happy ending the road to it is unlikely to be pretty) but a disaster I would love to see. I am very interested to see exactly how their relationship changes and what them being together would look like.

An AU I think could be interesting to put these two in would be canon divergence where the Garricks weren’t available to take F!Bart in for whatever reason so F!Wally has to take in F!Bart herself.

Another AU that could be rad would be a cops and robbers one with F!Wally as the cop and F!Bart as the robber (or maybe they’re both robbers trying their best to cooperate). Bank robber AUs work well for me when they double as historical AUs (because they go so well with so many different eras) and when they are set in the modern day. On a slightly related note if you wanted to write a mundane AU I think F!Bart being fresh out of juvie or some similar situation would be a good idea as a way to create an equivalent for the terrible future F!Bart comes from.

Whenever I think about this ship, specifically the femslash iteration of it that I’m requesting here, two words always comes to mind: growing pains. Take or leave that however you like.

As for names I am really fond of Wendy for F!Wally and Beth for F!Bart. If you have another name that you prefer for F!Wally I’m open to it. I’d also be open to a different name for F!Bart, but I will warn you that I am pickier about names for her. Mostly because Bart was named after his grandfather Barry, and I prefer that to stay intact even if it’s difficult to find a name that’s close enough to Bart to be recognizable but also short for something that can also be shortened to something else close enough to Barry to be recognizable. It took me a long time to think of Elizabeth with F!Bart being Beth and F!Barry being Betsy, and if you can think of another name that would work like that, then go for it. You could get away with keeping F!Bart’s name as Bart if this incarnation of Barry Allen is still a dude.

On a similar note if any of the other characters from the wider DCU make an appearance feel free to genderbend them or not however you please as long as you don’t break my unrequested m/f DNW. So like if you wanted to have past F!Wally/Linda I would ask that you don’t genderbend Linda, and if you wanted to have past F!Bart/Thad I would ask that it be F!Thad. Otherwise knock yourself out.

IT (2017)

Eddie Kaspbrak/M!Myra Kaspbrak

Eddie is a character that reads very strongly to me as gay and deeply closeted. I won’t get into all of the reasons why I interpret him like that because that’s a whole essay (it’s less about his interactions with other characters, although that does play into it a little bit, and more about his interactions with himself as well as the fears and anxieties he carries with him). What I will say is that the specific incarnation of Eddie I’m requesting hardly has that subtext at all in comparison to him in the book or miniseries (there are little itty bitty tiny things but I doubt I would have picked up on them if I weren’t already predisposed to see the character this way due to the book and miniseries). I also understand that my interpretation is not universal. I’m going through this here because I know it’s not like canonical and my prompt is about to take this reading for granted as if it were (mostly because this reading is a huge part of why I want this in the first place).

One thing I really like about IT is the way it shows the cyclical nature of trauma. People often end up in the same terrible situations over and over again. It’s mostly through no fault of their own. People have a tendency to seek out the familiar because it’s comfortable which is bad if the familiar is a nightmare but is ultimately very difficult to prevent because it so often completely subconscious. Eddie and Bev’s marriages are really good examples of this. I’m actually curious to see how the sequel handles this considering the way that Eddie stood up to his mother (also with how Bev stood up to her father but I’m gonna focus on Eddie since that’s who the Prompt is about). Would that disrupt the cycle in some way? Or would it just make so he thinks he’s not trapped in this cycle when he very much is? Or would losing those memories make it as if he never stood up to his mom at all?

Now that I’m done with the preamble and context what I would be interested to see is an Eddie who is out of the closet but still ultimately married his mother. Whether or not he understands that this is what happened is up to you, I like it either way. Were the traits of M!Myra’s that mirrored his mother’s subtle at first? Were they unnoticed until it was too late? Was M!Myra blatantly Sonia Kaspbrak-esque from day one but Eddie was less capable of recognizing it because M!Myra is a man? Also how does Eddie feel about his husband?

When I say I want M!Myra to essentially be Sonia Kaspbrak repackaged, I don’t mean personality or looks wise (although feel free to sprinkle in elements of that). I mean in the way that he treats Eddie and in general relationship dynamics. M!Myra thinks of his husband as delicate and in need of protection. Perhaps he could be written as pretty manipulative. Him insisting on a kiss before Eddie walks out the door every time could definitely work as a story point.

As for names I think Marty would be a good one for M!Myra because that was one of Eddie’s nicknames for Myra in the book, but if you have a different idea go for it.

If you go with this specific request I’d prefer it if in the event any of the Losers Club are referenced or appear that they not be genderbent. I am making this clear here because my wishes when it comes to my other request for the same fandom are different and I don’t want there to be any confusion.

F!Eddie Kaspbrak/Gretta Keene

How does Gretta feel about F!Eddie? Since Gretta is the daughter of the pharmacist I’d imagine that even if they were never close they would have at least been aware of each other from a very young age. I have a feeling that Gretta’s feelings about F!Eddie would be different than her feelings about regular old M!Eddie (even if she’s never exactly kind to her or doesn’t behave all that much differently). Maybe she likes her deep down and in a world where she wasn’t so lame she would keep her and wouldn’t hesitate to try to mold her into something more acceptable. Maybe she doesn’t like her at all but can’t help but feel a bizarre sense of solidarity. Or maybe it’s something else entirely, more complicated.

I would be interested to see F!Eddie who bottles up her feelings and keeps her cards close to her chest. Sure, the monster was vanquished at the end of the summer (for now at least), but the majority of her problems and pain didn’t go with it. F!Eddie has a lot of dark feelings swarming around, a great deal of it anger. She loves her friends more than life itself, but there is no way in hell she's telling them what’s going on with her. That’s need to know information, and even if it weren’t that isn’t who she is. But then there’s Gretta who knows about F!Eddie’s home situation. If F!Eddie had a choice Gretta would be the last person she’d tell, she didn’t even tell her friends, but she didn’t have a choice. If anything Gretta was the one that had a choice since she was the one who told F!Eddie. Having someone that knows what her friends don’t undeniably has an effect on her life whether she wants it to or not. Especially someone like Gretta who would encourage her to act on destructive feelings.

I could see the foundation of their relationship being a sexual one. They could have a mutual attraction. F!Eddie has thought of Gretta as the prettiest girl ever to live since they were five and now they’re older that opinion has only strengthened. As much as Gretta mocks F!Eddie’s tiny shorts she really just wants to take them off. Both of them hate themselves for their attraction, not only because of the internalized homophobia but also because it’s her. Of all people why did it have to be her? They fall into each other anyway. The fooling around that ensues is not devoid of feelings. Oh there are plenty of feelings involved, but they are all extremely complicated ones. If you have a different idea for how to get these two together I’d be down for that as well.

No matter what their relationship is like or how they come together it’s a union I’m sure the other Losers would deeply disapprove of. Would this have any effect on F!Eddie’s decisions going into the relationship? Is what’s going on with Gretta something she actively hides from them or something she just doesn’t tell them about? Does Gretta have any desire to separate F!Eddie from her friends?

Gretta’s reaction to F!Eddie changing LOSER to LOVER could be fun to have as a plot point.

When I think of this pairing, particularly as femslash (which is honestly the only way I like it) I four things pop into my mind: every girl needs to kill something, suburban gothic, “There’s something dangerous about the boredom of teenage girls”, and Plato’s Allegory of the Cave. Do with that information whatever you want.

As for names I really like Addie for F!Eddie. Edie also works. If you have another idea go ahead.

Also for this specific request if any of the other Loser appear or are referenced and you want to genderbend them, feel free to do so or not just as long as you don’t violate my unrequested m/f DNW. For example if you wanted to have background Stan/Mike I’d rather you genderbend them both or not at all. Otherwise go wild, I’m open to everything from F!Eddie as the token girl to M!Bev as the token boy to F!Eddie and Bev as the only girls to a more equal mix to all girl Losers to anything else you could do with the gender configuration.

Salem’s Lot - Stephen King

F!Ben Mears/F!Mark Petrie

With this pairing I like it romantic and sordid at the same time. Romantic because they just love each other so much and due to everything they’ve been through together they are each other’s whole world. They both love each other more than the other could possibly understand. Sordid in that it’s also still an adult and a minor in a sketchy motel room. Or a car.

Tell me about their time on the road going from place to place. Stories about drifters/people on the run are some of my favorite things. Just all the diners and motels and strange little towns and marked up road maps and long stretches of open road please.

F!Ben hasn’t had the greatest luck with women. Her technically-not-wife (in this universe considering the era although I’m thinking they considered themselves married even if the law didn’t) died in a car accident and then there was the whole thing with Susan. Does all of this make entering into a new romantic relationship nerve wracking or is it nerve wracking for other reasons? Or is she calm about this? On a related note do either of them feel guilt over the relationship?

What was their first time like? Who initiated it? Who initiated their relationship to go in that direction in the first place? Was it even properly, intentionally started by either of them or did it just sorta happen and by the time they realized it they couldn’t turn back?

I would really be into if they had a bit of a butch/femme thing going F!Ben being butch and F!Mark being femme. If you aren’t into it isn’t a requirement. This particular prompt would be like extra credit in my eyes.

This prompt isn’t ship oriented but it’s still something that interests me from a character perspective. F!Mark is a nerd, but what is her relationship to her own geekiness like after Salem’s Lot considering it’s monstercentric nature? Does reading about the things she used to enjoy make her sick now or does she cling to it tighter and more obsessively than ever before because it makes her feel safe?

As for names Marcie might be a good one for F!Mark. If you like it, use it, if you don’t I’m not married to it. I don’t have any ideas for alternative names for F!Ben and I’m open to anything you might come up with. If you wanna use the original names feel free.

DCU (Comics) Part 2

F!Bart Allen/Cassie Sandsmark

I think this could be cute. The things that pop into my head when I think of this are divine heroic quests on a much more petty scale than those from the myths of old, juvie, having something to prove, and roller skates. Make of that what you will.

Name wise I really like Beth for F!Bart. I’m a bit picky on that one and I go more in depth with my reasoning in my F!Bart/F!Wally request.

F!Jason Todd/F!Wally West

It’s only your best friend’s undead little sister. What could go wrong?

Name wise I like Wendy for F!Wally and Jay or Jayne for F!Jason but if you have other ideas I am open to it.

Indiana Jones Series

Henry "Indiana" Jones/M!Marion Ravenwood

What I’ve always found most interesting about these two is the backstory between them where they got together when Marion was underage (I think she was fifteen but it’s been a while since I read about the exact intentions of the filmmakers, what I do remember clearly was that George Lucas had to be talked up from her being twelve) and Indiana was somewhere in his twenties and her father found out about it leading to his fallout with Indiana and how now that Marion has grown up she’s bitter about what happened between them (“I was a child!” anyone). For this request I’d be interested to see what this series of events would look like with M!Marion instead and maybe someone what the reunion between them would look like as well.

I understand that Marion was in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but I never saw it and that’s about all that I know about that movie. I have seen the other three movies though. I’m telling you this because that’s a part of canon I am completely unfamiliar with so if you wrote me fic about that movie specifically I doubt I would be able to appreciate it.

As for M!Marion’s name, I have no idea. Do whatever.

Henry "Indiana" Jones/M!Willie Scott

I just think M!Willie Scott would be a hell of a lot of fun, and I’d love to see Indiana/Willie as a m/m ship. Just Indiana dealing with M!Willie who is still essentially the same personality and background wise would be great.

As for names I’d like it if M!Willie’s name was still Willie, but you have another idea sure.

IT (2017) Part 2

F!Bill Denbrough/F!Eddie Kaspbrak

Whenever I think of the f/f iteration of this pairing my thoughts tend to go to F!Eddie as F!Bill’s muse. With this pairing I’m always here for dynamics born of them using each other to cope with their respective family issues. Themes of bottled up emotions and anger and complex mother daughter relationships would be some things that would likely be worthwhile to explore with F!Eddie.

As for names I like Billie for F!Bill and Addie, Edie, and Edna for F!Eddie. If you have other ideas go for it.

I’m fascinated by what Beverly Marsh’s story and problems and trauma would look like when applied to a boy. Also Ben who is just as head over heels for M!Beverly as he usually is.

As for names maybe Beven or Beaver (as in Leave it to Beaver, maybe Beaver could be a nickname his father gave him as a part of a “you’re my little boy” thing) for M!Bev? If you have other ideas go for it.

F!Eddie Kaspbrak/F!Mike Hanlon

The words that come to mind for this pairing are sweet and brave. Also the movie implies they may have known each other before Mike joined the Losers so that could be a thing to explore.

As for names I like Addie, Edie, and Edna for F!Eddie and Michaela or Mika for Mike. If you have other ideas go for it.

F!Richie Tozier/F!Stanley Uris

Chaos and decay. Those are the two words that come to mind right now for this. Do with that whatever you want.

F!Frank Castle/F!Marc Spector

I’m just interested in seeing what these characters would be like as women because we don’t get many ladies like either of them. Whatever you do, don’t shy away from their more gritty, dark, or violent aspects. Also I love their friendship and mutual respect for each other and a fic about them kicking ass and falling in love would be great.

As for names do whatever you want. I have no concrete ideas.

F!Harry Osborn/F!Peter Parker

Secrets, guilt, and bears, oh my! I think my favorite flavor for this pairing would be when Norman (or maybe Norma for this fic?) Osborn is dead, Harry thinks Spider-Man did it and wants revenge, he has no idea that Peter is Spider-Man, he is slowly siding off the deep end into the dark, and Peter is filled with guilt over Harry and a result Harry has way more power over Peter than he knows. Like by far. And seeing that twistiness as f/f would be fucking amazing, I think.

As for names I’m pretty attached to Penny for F!Peter but for F!Harry do whatever you want.

If you click this link you’ll have read the entirety of this canon. It’s less than two hundred words. There’s a tumblr dedicated to what other people have done to the idea, but the nothing is set in stone as official canon except the original post. So there’s a lot of room for you to just do whatever the hell you want which is part of what I find so intriguing about it. Also in the event you want more extensive versions of my prompts for Mycroft/Sherlock, Sherlock/Lestrade, or Sherlock/Moriarty, here’s my Smut Swap letter. If not then ignore that link.

Mycroft Holmes/Sherlock Holmes- Is Mycroft a youth pastor or a politician or a cop or something else entirely? What is his dynamic with his brother like? I would prefer it if things were rocky between them, but how rocky is up to you.

Sherlock Holmes/Lestrade- What sort of cop is Lestrade? How is his relationship with Sherlock different from Sherlock’s relationship with other cops (if it really is at all)? If Sherlock is underaged how does Lestrade feel about that? How does Lestrade feel about Sherlock and what he does in general? What does Sherlock think of Lestrade?

Sherlock Holmes/Charles Augustus Milverton- I feel Milverton is a really underutilized villain when it comes to Sherlock Holmes adaptations, and I would love to see your take on him for this verse. What is the nature of his blackmail? Does Sherlock know him outside of his crimes? I hope you keep the gold glasses but if you don’t want to that’s cool too. Go wild. Part of what I like about this verse is that nothing aside from the character of Sherlock Holmes and the setting are set in stone and anyone can do whatever they want with them.

Sherlock Holmes/James Moriarty- I’ve seen a few different interpretations of Moriarty for this verse from drug dealer to cooperate executive? What’s yours? Does he have a past of any sort with Sherlock? Is he Sherlock’s greatest nemesis in this verse or not at all? Also, feel free to ignore this bit, I have always had a soft spot for stories where Sherlock runs off with Moriarty and joins in on his wicked plans.

Another Country (1984)

Guy Bennett/James Harcourt- I found their courtship to be quite adorable, and I’m just asking for more of that. Although the not necessarily so fluffy future of their relationship, considering the era and Guy’s later treason, could be really, really interesting to explore.

Guy Bennett/Tommy Judd- After watching this movie I wished two things about it. First, that it had started around the point it had ended, and second, that these two had gotten together. So that’s essentially what this request is, post-canon fic where they get together. I see potential for it going forward for the two of them. Also if you wanna make it so that Tommy Judd didn’t die during the Spanish Civil War after all that would be very kind to my heart (although if you wanted to stay canon compliant with that point and bring on the angst I would very likely love that as well). If you don’t wanna go post-canon I’d also be down with pining and not understanding their own emotions.

DC Extended Universe

Billy Batson/Freddy Freeman- I really, really enjoyed their dynamic and back and forth in the movie, and I would love to see your interpretation of where their relationship goes from there. With them bickering and being huge dorks but dorks that are superheroes and having not so brotherly feelings and trying to figure out the best course action. Sidenote: if you like AUs an AU I would love to see these characters in would be one where the met on the streets rather than living on a group home. Also because when I see something pure I have to give you the option to obliterate that aspect of it, I would be very interested in a supervillain!Billy AU.

DCU (Comics)

Bart Allen/Thaddeus Thawne- Just. Thad not being able to get Bart off his mind. Bart becoming convinced he can save Thad through the power of love. Drama that results from complicated hero/villain stuff. The Flash or the Reverse-Flash’s reaction. Fluff, angst, horror, spin it any direction you want. These two function so well as foils and I love seeing them together.

Bart Allen/Wally West- Just them not getting along at all and fighting all the time. Wally thinking Bart is an annoying immature brat and wanting very little to do with him and Bart finding Wally to be kinda stiff and unkind in return. Deep down Bart just wishes Wally liked him and doesn’t understand why he doesn’t. To Wally’s credit he does care about Bart. Deep down. In his own way. What would it look like if they became romantically and/or sexually entangled if what I just described was the state of their relationship up to that point? Probably an ill-advised disaster, but that’s what I’m here for.

Michael Carter/Ted Kord- I like this pairing because when I see them on page together it makes me smile (well not counting the stuff from when Ted’s dead, it’s hard to smile at that). They’re both such goofballs and they love each other and that’s all I need. If you wanna bring the angst feel free. This ship is perfect for fluff and angst, this ship contains multitudes.

John Constantine/Alec Holland- Just these two giving each other a hard time and never ever letting up but loving each other a whole lot. All of the loving bickering. My needs in this department are simple.

John Constantine/Lucifer Morningstar- I really like the idea of these two as exes. It just seems right to me that John Constantine would end up with Lucifer as his ex. So maybe a story about them rekindling an old flame (or if you aren’t too fond of the idea of them as exes, starting a relationship for the first time). How did they meet? How well do they get along as a couple?

Thomas Elliot/Bruce Wayne- I love the degree of obsession love hatred Tommy has towards Bruce. Bruce truly is the defining aspect of his life. Just give me more about that obsession, whether it’s when they’re kids and Tommy envies Bruce but finds himself in love as well or starting out their adult lives and Tommy is starting down a darker path and Bruce is starting out as Batman or after Tommy has gone full Hush. Bruce cares about Tommy. How does Tommy’s obsession make him feel?

Jay Garrick/Alan Scott- This is a really good pairing for Golden Age shenanigans. Also outsider perspective about them in their civilian identities in the “why does that college student know that broadcaster?” sort of way could be fun. If you wanna go with someone thing set when they are older then I’d something that focused on how close the decades brought them together.

Hal Jordan/Kyle Rayner- I would love something set during the era where Hal was a villain for these two featuring all the foe yay and complicated, conflicted emotions. Alternatively I would also love fic where Hal is a good guy who is trying to take Kyle under his wings and show him the ropes (even if Kyle has already advanced past anything Hal had achieved as Green Lantern at that point he would still try) featuring them getting to know and like/love each other. Also Hal taking Kyle flying would be good.

Clark Kent/Kenan Kong- I really love the Superman series about Kenan Kong and I love Kenan Kong’s character. So much. He’s possibly my favorite recent addition to the DCU. The only prompt I really have in mind for this pairing is: old meets new.

Kyle Rayner/Jason Todd- These two just fit together so well in my head. There would be a nice harmony between them. I like the idea of Jason latching onto Kyle and really identifying with him for reasons Kyle doesn’t understand (or want to understand). Kyle resists the friendship at first but then it happens anyway and then they end up falling into a romantic relationship. Whether Jason is on the side of the angels or not during this fic is up to you, I’d be happy either way. As for a one word prompt for these two: replacement.

IT (2017)

Just a heads up some of these prompts casually reference spoilers for the upcoming movie. Or at least things that happen in the book that I’m assuming won’t be changed but for all I know they could change anything. I’m putting this disclaimer here just in case anyone out there was dedicated to walking into the next one blind.

Bill Denbrough/Eddie Kaspbrak- One trait of Bill’s I like to see explored is his protectiveness and one trait of Eddie’s I like to see explored is his bravery. I think this is the perfect pairing for both of those things to shine. I really like the idea of them dating in high school, and I really like the idea of Bill running into Eddie as an adult after he’s already become a successful writer and sparks fly. Both are good. Also Eddie Kaspbrak, puppy hopelessly in love with Bill Denbrough, who desperately wants a father/older brother figure and clings to Bill because Bill can somewhat fill that role, and Bill Denbrough who may or may not be clinging back because he lost Georgie and needs little brother type around for comfort, but this mutualism is complicated and spun into not brotherly directions due to the presence of romantic feelings. That is a dynamic that has everything to do with the book characterizations and very little to do with the incarnations I’m asking for. Heck if the wiki is too be believed in this version Eddie is a little bit older than Bill. However I am so weak for this sort of thing that if you managed to incorporate elements of that into these incarnations of the characters I would love it to pieces.

Bill Denbrough/Richie Tozier- Richie is willing to go the extra mile for Bill and I would love to see something where Bill does so for Richie in return. These two understand each other on a different level even if they don’t always agree with the other’s perspective. Also these two both grew up to have entertainment related careers with Bill as a writer and Richie as a (I’m not sure if they’ll go with comedian or radio show host or something else so for this adaptation so insert what works best for you here). Did these two ever cross paths professionally?

Mike Hanlon/Ben Hanscom- Does this version of Mike still have an interest in history? If so I think that could definitely be something these two bond over.

Mike Hanlon/Eddie Kaspbrak- Whenever I think of this pairing I end up with this sentence in my head, “Eddie would kill for him.” I also think of Mike’s kindness. Skinned knees also pop into my head for reason. Take or leave all of this however you please.

Mike Hanlon/Stanley Uris- This movie sure put these two together a lot. There’s even a deleted scene where they provide a strong visual parallel to Ben and Bev. Or when Stan was singled out by the monster and everyone rushed to comfort him Mike stayed with him the longest. Or when they did the blood oath they were holding hands. In a lot of the ensemble scenes they just happen to be next to each other. Hell, when I looked up the birth order in this continuity for fic I didn’t finish reasons since the only thing I could tell from the movie alone was that Stan was the youngest, Mike turned out to be the second youngest. I quite like the decision to push these two together because I think they fit well together. Also there’s something very poignant to me about them being the boy who would never leave Derry and the boy who would never come back.

Patrick Hockstetter/Richie Tozier- It’s pretty blink or you’ll miss it, I personally didn’t catch it until the second time I watched this, but towards the beginning of the movie when Richie, Stan, Eddie, and Bill are walking through the hallway and they pass the Bowers gang Patrick looked at Richie in this way that flooded me with concern. It was really more of a leer than a look. Patrick even licked his lips. It’s at about the thirty second mark. As much concern as I felt I’m also intrigued. What horrors may have been awaiting Richie?

Eddie Kaspbrak/Stanley Uris- Oh the first of the club to die. On one hand I can see them working well together in a quiet sort of way. On the other hand each of them has a whole lot of hurt and together that would be a whole bunch of hurt. The other hand is not a con it’s just the other side of the coin. Although other side of the coin might be the wrong turn of phrase considering that both could be a thing at the same time.

Richie Tozier/Stanley Uris- I thought their dynamic in the movie was a whole lot of fun. What I really liked about their interactions can basically be summed up in a nutshell by when Richie went for a fist bump after making a joke and Stan grabbed his hand and put it down. Plus Richie was the only one to go to Stan’s bar mitzvah. I would be very interested in seeing Richie having abandonment issues/a fear of being forgotten and Stan making promises he can’t keep.

Marvel 616

Daken Akihiro/Bobby Drake- I really like the idea of Daken having issues controlling Bobby because Bobby is so stubborn. Like mind over matter might as well be Bobby’s secondary mutation considering how much his state of mind affects his powers as it is. And I really like the idea of this making Daken unwilling to let Bobby go when he might have already forgotten him by now if Bobby didn’t challenge him.

Daken Akihiro/Logan- To put it simply and to mildly understate it, Daken has daddy issues. Logan also has son issues, just spitballing here. If there’s any place to exploit those issues to hell and back it’s right here. Give me all the aggression and bitter ugliness this would entail.

Frank Castle/Marc Spector- I really love the friendship and mutual respect for each other that we sometimes see in the comics. They compliment each other well. I would love fic of them absolutely kicking ass together and falling in love. Also a Fight Club AU featuring these two would be great and you know it.

Bobby Drake/Hank McCoy- They understand each other in profound ways that no one else does in some ways and yet there are also some ways where they just don’t get each other at all. They’re friendship is delightful. How would they end up romantically and/or sexually involved and what does that look like? When moved in this direction is their relationship what one would call stable? If you wanna write smut rough sex would work well for me with this pairing. Also I like this pairing fluffy but, oh boy, I like it dark. Which is my way of saying go whichever direction your heart pleases and you’ll please me because my taste covers a lot of ground.

Bobby Drake/Warren Worthington III- We know Bobby has a crush on Warren. Just let it be requited. These two would lend themselves well to fluff. Also I think blood that heals people is a wonderfully gruesome take on the role of the medic as well as an underrated power Warren had, and fic for this pairing with Warren as the angel of death would be yes.

Sam Guthrie/Doug Ramsey- So I had never even considered this as a pairing or even thought of it before until I was trying to figure out how to use my last Marvel slot during nominations. It very suddenly popped into my head, and yes it was four in the morning, how did you guess? Either way I’m intrigued. They’re both so good. Not exactly in the same ways but still both top level good kids. I’m not sure what they’d be like together but I think it has the potential to be sweet. Or to hurt me. Or any number of things really.

Billy Kaplan/Tommy Shepherd- On one hand, yay! Twincest! On the other hand, yay! Supremely different backgrounds and life experiences! I think that’s a huge part of what makes this pairing work so well for me, the closeness mixed with the distance, the familiar mixed with the strange. I like the idea of them being subconsciously drawn to each other and deep down feeling that they need each other even if they try to push each other away. If one of them realizes their feelings first or develops them first or is open about them first my head tends to default to it being Tommy but I would be just as interested the other way around. Also depending on how you look at it these two are canonically soulmates so…

Logan/Steve Rogers- Over the years I’ve had a lot of thoughts about this pairing that are a bit too scattered and disconnected from the language bits of my brain to fully collect here but to distill it in one word: nostalgia. They would both induce nostalgia in the other, albeit in different ways, and perhaps that might be what draws them in so close to each other in the first place.

Matt Murdock/Marc Spector- I’m just intrigued by this idea. I think they work really well as foils. How would Matt deal with Marc? What would Marc think of Matt? How would they get together in the first place? What would a relationship between them be like? While I’m not quite sure of the answers to these questions they fascinate me.

Peter Parker/Dmitri Smerdyakov- I just want Dmitri head over heels for Peter. He loves him and is low key obsessed with him and he might put Peter on a bit of a pedestal but that’s okay because he loves seeing Peter smile. When did Dmitri first start having feelings for Peter and when did he first recognize them for what they were? How did those feelings grow? How were those feelings changed or not changed after Dmitri’s suicide attempt? Also Inwould love to see what a relationship between them would look like if Dmitri’s feelings were requited.

One of Us Is Lying - Karen M. McManus

Cooper Clay/Simon Kelleher- After reading this book I came away with the impression that Simon wanted Cooper and had felt rejected by him and that, as well as everything else that happened the night of Junior prom, was why Simon hated Cooper so much. So what I would want from this is a deep exploration of that.

Cooper Clay/Jake Riordan- Jake wanted this perfect stereotypical life for himself complete with the perfect girlfriend and the perfect best friend. And to that extent Jake views Cooper less as an individual person and more of an extension of himself. In the book we got to see plenty of Jake’s controlling nature in regards to Addy and I would love to see some of that applied to his relationship with Cooper. Also how did Jake feel/react when he found out Cooper was gay?

Simon Kelleher/Jake Riordan- Awful people together is one of my many weaknesses. Just with them both understanding each other’s dark urges and Simon’s sense of betrayal at Jake ditching him in high school and them finally reuniting to for their maniacal plan, I feel like there’s a lot there. They could be terrible together and as far as I’m concerned that’s wonderful.

Noah Czerny/Richard Gansey III- The way in which these two’s souls and beings are so connected fundamentally connected gives potential for a love story epic or mundane or all the notches in between. One thing I like the idea of is Noah being a little afraid of Gansey towards the start of their association due to Gansey’s interests. Also I really love is Noah jokingly saying alive things (like “I want waffles” or “We need a heater, it’s cold”) as his way of playing house but being misunderstood because no one knows he’s dead yet, and you’ll get serious bonus points if you include that.

Noah Czerny/Ronan Lynch- I just find their friendship so charming with the gentle bullying as a way to show affection. I think they would be cute together. Also my head thinks about the way Ronan mourned Noah in the first book a lot. Also glitter. Yes, glitter is a complete thought. Also I really love is Noah jokingly saying alive things (like “I want waffles” or “We need a heater, it’s cold”) as his way of playing house but being misunderstood because no one knows he’s dead yet, and you’ll get serious bonus points if you include that. I copypasted that last sentence from the prompt above because I am that serious about bonus points.

Noah Czerny/Barrington Whelk- I think the words that immediately come to mind for this pairing are: unconditional love. At least on Noah’s part anyway. I would love something set in the era where Noah was still alive and was a part of Whelk’s obsession with ley lines or maybe something where Noah is a ghost and haunting Whelk. An AU I would love to see these two in would be an age difference AU in which Whelk is already a teacher when Noah is a high school student and they grow inadvisably close.

Richard Gansey III/Joseph Kavinsky- I like the idea of Kavinsky just not being able to get his mind off of Gansey no matter how hard he tries. It makes his thoughts more and more twisted as time goes on. This probably won’t end well. Also cars. Cars would be good.

Declan Lynch/Matthew Lynch- I really like the idea of Declan being possessive and worried and filled to the brim with Niall and/or Ronan related issues when it comes to Matthew and it all just combusting into a romantic and/or sexual dynamic that he didn’t start out intending to have with Matthew.

Declan Lynch/Ronan Lynch- Their dynamic is just so dysfunctional and I love it. I really don’t have much to say about their dynamic except yes and I want more of it. It’s wonderful. Just all the love and hate and issues and fighting and understanding and misunderstanding in the world please.

Matthew Lynch/Ronan Lynch- I definitely want all the creepy parallels between their relationship and the relationship of their parents with all the fucked up implications you can imagine. Also mutual adoration and Ronan being super guilty over this whole thing.

Salem’s Lot - Stephen King

Ben Mears/Mark Petrie- After everything they’ve been through together they have just been left loving each other so much. I would love to see some of their time on the road together because stories about drifters/people on the run is one of my favorite things. They have this unbreakable bond with trauma in the mix, what could go wrong? Whenever I think of these two I think of something that is both sweet and sordid at the same time.

Stand By Me (1986)

Teddy Duchamp/Gordie Lachance- What I would love to see is a story about reconnection. Somehow after Gordie has finished writing the story that is the movie when they’re both the adults that they became they somehow end up back in each other’s lives. Their relationship blossoms in an unexpected direction. I would also love a more brief reconnection in high school or in their adult lives before that if that’s where you’d rather go with it.

One direction you could go marriage at the hands of the Watcher’s Council. I’ll leave the reasons up to you and whatever works best for your story. “Future Arranged Spouses are Forbidden To Meet But Able To Study One Another's Hobbies” is a tag I think would work beautifully with this specific pairing under these circumstances, especially if you go into what this causes them to assume about one another. I like the idea of this marriage starting out as just another part of being a slayer they have to go through but then they end up falling for each other.

A different direction you could go with this would be them being forced to marry by vampires or demons. This specific circumstance is why I have the “Blood-Splattered Wedding Dress” and “Marriage Is Sealed with Blood Drinking” tags but if you wanna use them without going for this specific prompt feel free because they’re great. Just them getting married under horrific circumstances that are really more of a demonic parody of marriage than anything else and then falling for each other for real afterwards. Or if the reason they are having a demon wedding is that they’ve have joined the side of darkness (either becoming vampires themselves or just defecting or whatever) that could also be rad.

A third direction you could go is a spur of the moment “I love you let’s get married right now” type of thing that’s spontaneous and passionate and romantic and sweet. I can see Buffy proposing that way but it also works for me if it’s Kendra’s idea. That type of wedding for them would make me smile. Also the fallout of a sudden marriage on their lives and amongst their friends and the Watcher’s Council could be fun.

If you go with “Time Travel Backward To Fix The Past Also Results In Unexpectedly Getting Married” then maybe Buffy uses the time travel to save Kendra’s life and then when she’s back in the modern day she discovers that she married Kendra and has to adjust to that being her life now. Either that or Buffy has to relive her life from the point of divergence and she ends up close to Kendra in ways she didn’t expect and they end up married.

I just had to have the “Trapped In Fake Perfect World That Includes Marriage They Don't Believe They Can Ever Really Have” tag because that feels like it would be the plot of an actual episode. Which one ends up in the fake perfect world is up to you, but I will admit that when I go through this scenario in my head more often than not it’s Kendra. Bonus points if the relationship is the one part of the perfect world that would be attainable in the real world even if they don’t realize it.

I’m imagining this as some probably misguided attempt to put an end to the Trojan War whether it be at the hands of the Trojan royal family or the Greek military leaders or the gods themselves. This could also totally be an offensive move to advance the war a la “I just married your youngest prince/mightiest warrior, your move Trojans/Greeks” and that could be interesting.

For the “Dealing with In-Law(s)” tag I’m mostly thinking of Achilles having to interact with Hector in this context or Troilus having to interact with Thetis in this context because that could be great. Also for the “political marriage where one partner is under orders to kill their spouse” tag maybe Hector could be using this marriage as a way to plot Achilles’s assassination.

I included the “Visions of Alternate Timeline Where Impossible Marriage Happens/Works Out” tag because Troilus certainly has a connection to Apollo (even if the strength and exact nature of that connection is ambiguous to us in the modern day) and Apollo is connected with prophecies and psychics and oracles. So maybe Troilus could be having visions of this sort because that’s what his “gift” of sight allows him to see. Cue him responding to these visions however you see fit. Whether it really is an alternate timeline or Troilus just assumes it is and then it actually happens is up to you.

As for the “Drawbacks of marrying a God” tag, I know Achilles isn’t a god, but I figured he was close enough for the purposes of using that tag.

It’s around the time Billy just got to the Vasquez household and he still thinks he’s gonna be getting out of there soon. He’s plans to take advantage of what he can before he hits the road. Freddy is something he can take advantage of beyond just that Superman bullet that’s worth a couple hundred bucks. You could definitely set it at some other point and I’m open to whatever you come up with, this was just the clearest idea in my head as to when this could happen.

All the bonus points if Billy falls for Freddy after the act. How Freddy feels about Billy’s feelings is up to you. Same with how Billy feels about his past actions now that he’s grown feelings for Freddy.

If you go with the victim forced to comfort rapist afterward I think it would be best if Freddy had to comfort Billy over something like his mom rather than what Billy did to him.

The rape creates soulbond between victim and rapist tag is there because I like the idea of these two with a soulbond and oh boy developing a soulbond under these circumstances would be a nightmare. A nightmare I would bring popcorn for.

Just give me Yelena completely obsessed with Natasha and overwhelmed with feelings too conflicted for her to fully understand even if she wanted to. I would love to see Yelena wanting to treat Natasha with tenderness while also wanting to hurt Natasha as much as she possibly can. I encourage all the stuff involving Yelena’s identity issues and the way Natasha plays into those.

Another thing I encourage is going full creepy stalker. You can’t go too far in that regard as far as I’m concerned. Also one thing I like about their dynamic is the gap in age and experience and that would be great to explore here.
